- Grandma Olga - All summer long Alaskans line the banks of Ship Creek trying to catch salmon. Visit the mouth of Ship Creek, once a fish camp used by the Dena’ina that would harvest spawning salmon. At this stop we will see the statue of Grandma Olga, an important Dena’ina matriarch who depicts scenes of life at a subsistence fish camp.
- Lake Hood Harbor - Drive by Lake Hood, the busiest float plan base in the world! Stop for a few minutes to take a picture and hopefully watch a float plane take off or land. Learn a bit about Alaska aviation at this scenic viewpoint.
- Earthquake Park - Follow your guide on a short walk in Earthquake Park to learn about the Great Alaska Earthquake that rocked southcentral Alaska in 1964. Watch out for moose in this area!
- Glen Alps / Flattop Trailhead - Drive up to a scenic city overlook of Anchorage at the Glen Alps / Flattop Mountain Trailhead for a short walk. One of the access points to Chugach State Park and various hiking trails in the Chugach Mountains. Look out across Cook Inlet and see a bird’s eye view of the Turnagain Arm & Knik Arm. Look out for moose on the drive!

Wonderful sights of Anchorage - Get ready for a wonderful experience. The driver was super informative and considerate of everyone while walking and the vehicle temperature comfort.

Great experience! - We totally enjoyed our tour experience. Pick up was on time, easy to get around in the van. The descriptions from our guide along the way were excellent. Very interesting and informative. Highly recommend them!!

Historical Highlights. - Great tour to see several points of the city in a 2.5 hour time frame. David does a great job of explaining the history of all the sites and answering all questions. Excellent tour operator.
We were fortunate to see Beluga Whales in the harbor by the airport. It was definitely our lucky day.

Comprehensive tour - at our pace. - We were lucky enough to have David to ourselves. He took us to each of the places as outlined, but adjusting for my 82 year old Father-In-Law so he could participate as well. We all learned some things we didn't learn in school - did you know there was an actual land battle in the US during WWII? We didn't but do now! My favorite part was the float planes - we were so close! It was amazing to see them take off and land. I would highly recommend Frontier Tours.

Greatest tour! - What a great tour hosted by David who is a local with deep knowledge of history and culture around Anchorage and Alaska! His van was spotless and he took great care of our comfort and safety. He’s a great guy!

Seeing the full Mt. Denali when only a 10% or less get to see that. - OMG!! This was the best ending of our Alaskan trip!! Read other reviews before we booked this and so glad we did. Dave was excellent and so knowledgeable with everything we stopped at. U need to book this if u are there. So worth the money!! Also love helping him out as he is getting married and wants to start a family!!

Great tour, totally recommend! - Dave’s tour turned out to be the highlight of our brief visit to Anchorage. He was obviously passionate about all things Alaskan and very knowledgeable about area history and culture, along with being very personable and accommodating. His van was very comfortable and easy to get in and out of for us older folks, and he also supplied bottled water and snacks for those that wanted them. Best of all, not only were we treated to watching a plane taxi across the roadway in front of us, but also a moose sighting right along the road, and a rare clear view of Denali in the distance. Well done, Dave!

Great tour if you’re on a time budget! - David is a treasure of local knowledge about historical, cultural and the amazing natural wonders of Alaska. While it was a short tour it was long on information and very much enjoyed.
