- Buyongdae - Buyongdae is a cliff approximately 64 meters high, marking the end of the Taebaeksan Mountain Range. From its peak, visitors can enjoy a panoramic view of Hahoe Village in Andong. The name, derived from ancient Chinese history, means lotus, reflecting Hahoe Village’s lotus flower-like layout. The cliff provides the best vantage point of the village. Nearby attractions include Ogyeonjeongsa House, Gyeomamjeongsa House, and Hwacheon Seowon Academy.
- Hahoe Mask Museum - Situated in Andong Hahoe Village, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and Important Folklore Material No. 122, the Hahoe Mask Museum showcases the Hahoe Mask (National Treasure No. 121) and the Byeolsin Gut Mask Dance (Important Intangible Cultural Properties No. 69). The museum features not only Hahoe masks but also traditional masks from around the globe.
The museum comprises five permanent exhibition halls and one special exhibition hall, displaying a diverse collection of masks worldwide alongside Hahoe masks. It also offers engaging activities such as mask-wearing, mask trick art, a photo zone, and more.
- Byeongsan Seowon - Byeongsanseowon is a Confucian academy founded by respected Confucian scholars to honor Seong-nyong Yu (1542-1607), renowned for his writings and character. His memorial tablet is housed at this academy. Around 1863, Confucian schools enjoyed various privileges under Joseon rule, with students and scholars exempt from taxes and other costs. Byeongsan Seowon was one of 47 sites in Korea and 2 in Andong spared from destruction during Daewongun’s rule [Joseon Imperial family politician, 1820 ~ 1898] in 1868.
The Nakdong-gang River flows directly in front of the Confucian Academy. Across the river lies Byeongsan Mountain, which forms a protective and picturesque backdrop around the academy, enhancing the area’s serene beauty.
