- Bukchon Hanok Village - The village seamlessly connects to the Brew Master’s workshop, where visitors can taste, learn about, and purchase traditional Korean alcohol. After completing the Bukchon Walking tour, you’ll have the opportunity to visit the workshop of a renowned Korean female brewer.
Here, you’ll gain insights into the culture and fundamentals of Korean traditional alcohol, focusing on two types of fermented rice wine: “takju” (a cloudy rice wine, the original form of makgeolli) and “yakju” (a clear rice wine). You’ll also discover the process of making soju through the distillation of yakju. Visitors can sample four different varieties of Korean traditional alcohol, including Takju, Yakju, Makgeolli, and Soju, while also learning about proper drinking etiquette.

Gastro Tour Seoul offers adults the chance to explore an authentic Korean Brew Master’s workshop. With food and beverages included, participants will be introduced to high-quality traditional Korean alcohols such as Soju (a distilled spirit), Takju (the original form of Makgeolli), Makgeolli, and Yakju (rice-brewed wine) crafted by a local brewer.
Participants will have the opportunity to learn about the entire process of transforming rice into Soju and Takju (Makgeolli) and will delve into the core of Korean alcohol culture by exploring this hidden brewery known only to true locals.
This 2.5-hour tour will introduce master artisans who brew and distill using time-honored techniques. The tasting sessions are complemented by a traditional homemade Korean lunch or dinner, served with bowls of Makgeolli.
