Experience our Sandboarding Safari, where you’ll traverse the stunning sand dunes in one of our fantastic 4WD vehicles to reach our Sandboarding area, nestled in the heart of the dunes. The 4WD will drop you off for your Sandboarding adventure. We offer a shaded picnic area with tables and chairs, so feel free to bring some snacks and drinks.
A friendly instructor will guide you on the safe techniques of Sandboarding, whether you prefer sitting or standing. You can try either or both, depending on your preference. Our bowl-shaped dune offers both smaller slopes and a massive hill. Choose the hill size that matches your confidence level. Sandboarding is perfect for all ages and skill levels!

As a small family-run business, we are proud to be the only sand dune company in Port Stephens offering both seated and standing options, complete with strapped boards for standing. Our location provides instruction, supervision, shade, tables, and chairs to ensure a premium experience for our guests. Feel free to stay and enjoy the activity for as long as you wish, with most visitors spending 1-2 hours.
- Pregnant travellers can join the 4WD trip to dunes but Sandboarding is not recommended.
- Not recommended for travellers who have had recent surgery for example, knee or hip replacements

Fun and unique experience. Great for families - Great fun and unique experience. Walking up the dunes does require fitness but the surf down makes it worth it. Take water, it’s tiring work. Stunning scenery. Great tour operators happy to answer questions and help out.

Highly recommended.... - Highly recommended. Awesome experience for families with kids. With different levels of sand dunes to play with, and elderly can sit under the beach shelter for rest.

Super simple booking and transport to the dunes. Can stay as long or as short as you like and a great experience overall - Super simple booking and transport to the dunes. Can stay as long or as short as you like and a great experience overall. The dunes are beautiful and the kids 8,11,13 loved the sandboarding so much we stayed for 4 hours.

Fun activity, great service - My family had great fun sandboarding until my son was exhausted. Before our trip Ana was very helpful and kept me updated when plans changed. She also promptly responded and changed my booking when I accidentally booked the wrong day. Online booking was easy. It was simple to catch the shuttle bus which left regularly from the meeting point, which was next to where another operator runs camel rides along the beach.

Exceeded all expectations! - The service was fantastic and an amazing experience for adults and kids!! When the day we had scheduled turned out to be too windy, the team was extremely flexible and allowed us to re-book with ease for the next day. They were helpful and responsive with all our questions and we will definitely be returning! Thanks again for an awesome day.

Sand boarding - So much fun, kids love it. You need a lot of sunscreen or something can cover you under the sun, so hot there. Take a lot of water with you as well

Amazing! - It was very hot so bring sunscreen, hat and a lot of cold water (you'll need it!). Wear comfortable clothes. Bring a camera because it will be a fun memories. Not much people but still good you have all the place. You can chose how high you sand boarding. Be prepared going back up you'll be catching your breath!

Total Bust! - We booked this tour for our group of 4, we had car trouble in the morning but had a 2 1/2 hour drive to get there
En route, we texted them to let them know we were running late…a few minutes later received a text that said “disregard the forecast, it is raining and we are packing up”
We were well on our way, continued with the trip and upon our arrival found the weather favorable and several other tour operators working.
Be sure to chose another company, these guys were unreliable and seemed they just wanted the day off!
We used 4 Wheel Drive Tours are Us and they were fantastic!
