One-day bike trip - I went on a one-day bike trip on an Astuto gravel bike and a route suggested by Tim. The bike and route proposals were excellent, as was the service pre and post ride. I highly recommend the place, don’t miss it, if you are in Tokyo and are looking for a fantastic day on the bike.

An Epic Adventure on Japan’s Nakasendo Trail - An epic, once in a lifetime, adventure biking the Nakasendo Trail with my son, nephew and brother. Tim and Naoko Smith, owners, run a first rate operation! Tim, along with his guides, Brendan, Tony and Diego were professional, knowledgeable, flexible and down right, just plain fun! The rental bikes were top quality gravel bikes, designed, built and maintained by Tim. Tim and his guides made the extremely challenging rides an enormous amount of fun for our crew. My son and nephew are very strong cyclists while at 73, I am quite comfortable on a bike but not able to keep up with them on the significant ascents. Tim, Brendan, Tony, and Diego made the ride amazingly fun despite our separate skill levels by not “dumbing down” the ride to my level but by providing support, guidance and freedom to allow us to move at our own pace and have a memorable experience. I strongly recommend any avid cyclist who wishes to challenge themselves while having a fantastic time while experiencing historic, and authentic Japan to contact GS Astuto and plan a trip.
