This walk allows you to appreciate interesting facts about the most important monuments .You will explore the main square including cathedral (restored part / panoramic views of ruins) , the old university (3rd founded in the continent, City Hall Palace, panoramic views of The General’s Captains Palace, Walk the main streets and have some panoramic views of the arch of Saint Catherine. Continue with the church of La Merced, walk to Casa Santo Domingo to end with an optional visit of the famous Jade Museum and factory.

Worth it - El Pirates, Roberto, was great. Very knowledgeable and entertaining— you could tell he loves what he does. Really great option if you’re on a limited schedule here!

Fantastic walking tour!!! - Roberto was fabulous- I’ve traveled all over the world - I’ve been to Antigua several times- in the short time with Roberto he taught me so much that I didn’t know - he was brimming with enthusiasm and pride for his hometown. The tour was at the 3 hour time limit and he insisted on going overtime and bringing us to this incredible public market- no tourists there at all - we saw all the chicken buses at the bus station. I was very very impressed and would highly recommend this tour if you are lucky enough to get Roberto as your guide.

Best walking tour in Antigua - Roberto was amazing!! My partner and I had such an amazing time getting to know Antigua on our first day. Roberto is an absolute sweetheart and did his very best to make sure that everyone was comfortable and that we got to fully experience Antigua as much as possible in the short time that we had together. Roberto is not only very knowledgeable but also very well connected with the locals. I highly recommend taking this tour!

Visitando Antigua - Antigua is a beautiful city, very well maintained and safe; it is a pleasure to walk along its streets. There are several very rich restaurants where you eat well, I recommend trying the chicken Jocón and the Pepián de res; I really enjoyed having a coffee in Elemental, ideal for pausing.
There are several walking tours, I recommend looking for one with certified guide. It impresses to see women in their original dress, very cute; and the kindness of people.
If there are any crafts or jewels of jade that you like, buy them here; I assumed that I would find later in my trip (Chichicastenango or Flores) and it was not, or there was not so good quality or not.

Tour seemed to be disjointed and incomplete - The tour with Roberto started on time and was very informative for the first 90 minutes. After the jade store things seemed to go off the rails as parts of the itinerary got bypassed and we ended up at the city market where we were just left. Honestly, the guide seemed rushed and preoccupied the last hour so overall I was left unimpressed.

So-so tour - There are many interesting things to see in Antigua...we had a brief introduction to some of them, but our tour was pretty cursory...
The tour guide was somewhat of a character. He was pleasant, but did not seem to actually enjoy talking or sharing his information. It seemed at times that he said as little as possible, while sharing a view or sight. We visited a number of sites and covered a reasonable amount of the old colonial city. He definitely included the best spots. But generally, we were left with a lot of questions...
We received very little overall context or history. Not much about the culture. Not really a lot of solid information, just anecdotes and short quips. I got the impression that the guide is pretty bored with this gig.
At times he spoke to us while we were spread out following him, not paying attention to re-grouping.
We visited the market as our last stop, and received no information. That's Ok, I guess, perhaps it is self-explanatory, but he could have introduced us to a few vendors he knew or shared some information about the merchandise, produce, etc. Nothing. He thoughtfully got us into two tuk-tuk to get back to our hotel and avoid a walk back. Our 3 hour tour was actually two hours and was pretty skimpy on information.

I booked a 3pm tour and... - I booked a 3pm tour and was told to change it to 2pm. Arrived at the meeting point at 2pm, waited till 2:15pm. No one showed up. Ended up joining a free tour group.

Disappointed tour could have done better in my own - Very disappointed. The tour guide was not engaged walked far ahead of me. Ended tour 40 minutes early. Then asked for tip

Our guide jilted us with no refund as of yet. - Our guide didn’t show up. I’ve asked for a refund and, so far, have heard nothing. I would be understanding of a legitimate emergency but communication is lacking and I’m out the money.
