Unforgettable experience!! 1000/100 - This was an unforgettable tour that really opens your eyes to the extent and hard work behind a cup of coffee. The family we visited was so kind and welcoming. They were light hearted, open to questions, and professional! The price is more than worth it, as it benefits De La Gente organization, which aims to pay coffee workers/family fair pay for there work. Transportation is provided which is great for the price as well! You will learn more than just about growing coffee, but the exportation and business behind it as well! Our tour included a small walk with dusty hills, so be prepared for that!

De La Gente Coffee Farm experience - This tour was amazing. We met Carlos and his family. He was so excited to tell us about his coffee farm and how it has been in his family for 3 generations. We did not feel rushed at anytime and he took his time explaining every step of the coffee process from growing the coffee from seed and how to pick the coffee beans. His wife showed us step by step on how she grinds the coffee by hand using a grinding stone and roller. Finally we all sat down and had the freshest cup of coffee from the beans she just grounded! Also the translator did a great job for those that did not speak Spanish. At the end, we had an opportunity to buy coffee directly from Carlos which I did and he also gave everyone a free bag of his coffee. I highly recommend this tour..
Lastly, bring a good pair of walking shoes because Carlos is going to take you out to his coffee fields, which is a long walk uphill from his home.

The most memorable experience in Antigua - One of the most genuinely rewarding experiences I’ve had traveling anywhere. De La Gente matched us with Elisandro and his family in San Miguel Escobar, and from the moment we arrived the hospitality was extraordinary and completely authentic. The translator was very friendly and knowledgeable as well.
The tour itself is immersive in the best way: you’re in the fields, learning the process hands-on, and by the end you’re sitting with the family drinking what might be the best cup of coffee I’ve ever had, with homemade biscuits, in someone’s home. Nothing manufactured about any of it.
We were given a bag of coffee and we bought more — excellent value — and knowing the money goes straight to the producer and supports the cooperative model makes it that much better. Can’t wait to order from them regularly online.
If you’re visiting Antigua, don’t skip this. It’s not just a tour, it’s the kind of memorable travel experience that truly benefits the community.

Full coffee experience! - Wonderful experience! We started at the coffee grower's house and walked to the coffee plantation to see the plants and learn about the growing and harvesting process. Afterwards, we returned to the house to see how the coffee is processed into the green beans that are then roasted and made into delicious fresh coffee for us to taste! De La Gente supports the farmers directly through tour operations and coffee sales. Definitely recommend this tour!

10000/10 - The most amazing experience. We were welcomed into Manuel’s home by his family and he gave us a thorough understanding of the coffee growing process. From walking his farm, to picking coffee cherries, roasting and preparing the beans the traditional way in his kitchen, to finally enjoying a cup of the brew with the other guests, it truly was an unforgettable experience. What makes it even better is knowing we’re supporting De La Gente’s incredible work to promote these smaller farmers in the coffee markets. I have to say the coffee we got was nicer than anything I’ve ever had too. Couldn’t recommend more to go if you’re in Antigua!!
