My 40th birthday - Im giving this 5 stars strictly because of the driver and the wonderful couple that rode with us I didnt actually get to do the hike my lady started to feel sick and she comes first the driver understood that and we basically just ended up turning around and going home but he went out of his way to make sure WE were OK and that is what you want when you are alone in a foreign land and you dont speak the language I appreciate the compassion so much and that Is priceless I would certainly use their services again and I plan on it I still learned alot because he was educating us on everything as we traveled this country is so beautiful I plan on learning more Spanish and coming back to see more ❤️ 🇬🇹

Pacaya National Park review - It is not an easy hike but you can always catch a horse ride!! Beautiful scenery at the top. Also the coconut/coffee stand at exit is run by an amazing couple! Our driver and guide was amazing and knowledgeable and very patient and spoke excellent English. Melville our guide to the top of volcano was very good as was the woman who came with us!

Beautiful hiking trip! - This was a great hike with incredible views in a beautiful part of the country. The journey from Guatemala city to the volcano was smooth and comfortable. I would say the hike is accessible even for novice hikers, but still gives you a good workout if you are pushing the pace. Peter was a great guide, and very knowledgeable about the area. We got to climb over a (cooled) lava field, some parts of which ("chimneys") were still steaming - you can stick your hand in them and feel the heat and humidity from the vegetation that got trapped underneath the lava. There were wildflowers in lots of different colors, and we saw some very interesting insects and spiders, including "hummingbird moths" (large moths that look and behave like hummingbirds, hovering from flower to flower - note that the moth in the picture is a different one).

PACAYA experience - Loved, loved our time climbing this amazing active volcano! Alan our guide such a young but very knowledgeable gentleman. Alan was amazing at explaining everything that envolved our hike. If you de use to experience this phenomena, make sure to wear hiking shoes, mosquito spray, sunblock, and take plenty water & snacks.

Beautiful views after a tough hike - Hike is a little steep but a few great views from different spots. You go down a different and easier but longer route. You can choose to be on a horse if you’re not up for the climb. Alan our guide was good and informative.

It's not worth it - Instead of going directly to the volcano, we made a hook via Antigua (+1 hour one way). Road to the volcano is dusty and all covered with horse kakas (take a mask to cover your nose). Whole jorney took about 8 hours from which 45 minutes is a volcano views. No lava or some wow stuff here. So spend 8 hours to get 45 minutes ok views - it's not worth it.

Buyer beware - Tour information indicated that we would see a red hot lava flow. It did not exist. Also the tour company kept stopping at souvenir stores so they could get their commission.
