Amazing views and butterflies - What a beautiful place! Definitely check it out if you have extra time! The butterfly sanctuary here has one 1000 butterflies and is the best I’ve ever seen.

Great and Unique experience - It was a wonderful excursion. Charlie was a great guide who gave us a ton of great information about Panama and Valle De Anton. It sits inside an extinct volcano and has a lot to do there. They have a nice thermal pool we relaxed in. We enjoyed the short rainforest hike to a gorgeous waterfall that we crossed hanging bridges to get to. The zoo was also very nice. We will for sure be back to use Panamanian Adventures again!

Water fall and mineral springs - Our guide Alex was very knowledgeable. Wish the hike was longer but the waterfall and jungle were pretty. The Mineral springs were relaxing.

Cute place but not much to do - Our guide was wonderful but the place itself was not really worth the long commute… the “hot spring” was tiny.. barely the size of a jacuzzi!

Great activities, disappointing tour guide. - When we first met our tour guide and he said to call him Mr Ed (like the horse on tv), we thought, great! He has a good sense of humor. He told us he was a teacher so we thought, great! We will really learn from him! It turned out to be not so great. What we thought would be a 1.5-2 hr drive was over 3. I appreciate a careful driver but we were being passed on all sides like we were standing still. (There was a detour due to a road closure which was not his fault but that should have set us back only a few minutes.) The bigger issue was that once we got to El Valle he had no idea where anything was or what was on the itinerary. We went to the waterfall first, and swam in the natural pool. When we got out he asked if we were done already, and we said we weren’t sure how much time we could spend because there was so much more to see. He said “I’ll manage the time” so we trusted. He asked if we wanted to stop at the market. Since we had booked the tour on a Sunday specifically because it mentioned the “Sunday market” in the itinerary, we said yes. We asked how long we had he said “I’ll manage the time” Next we went to the hot springs. Again when we asked how much time we had he said “I’ll manage the time”. When we rejoined him after the hot springs we said we would like to stop for lunch. He wanted to go to a restaurant owned by his Russian friend, but he wasn’t quite sure of the name or where it was. He asked a couple of different people for directions. We told him it was ok if we went somewhere else and started looking up restaurants (we told him we needed something with vegetarian options). When we finally found where the restaurant was supposed to be, the name was different and it was closed. I gave him the name of the first place that popped up when I googled vegetarian near me. I gave him the name and address and even handed him my phone with the directions. He called the restaurant and kept them on the phone the whole time while they navigated him. While at lunch (it was now past 2 pm) I looked up the remaining places on the itinerary and found they all close at 4 pm. He kept saying he would manage the time and it took me several attempts to get him to understand that the places would be closed. After lunch we went to the butterfly sanctuary and didn’t rush because there was no point in trying to go to the zoo or the serpentaria at that point. He seemed very confused most of the day. We asked for the air conditioning in the car to be turned on (as the tour stated “an air conditioned vehicle) and he seemed surprised we would prefer that as he clearly would rather have the windows open. We said we would try it, so the windows were open which made it hard for him to hear our questions so we gave up trying to ask. At no point were we offered water or snacks as advertised (luckily we had our own). If I could do it again, I would rent a car and go to El Valle on our own. We definitely enjoyed the activities but dealing with Mr Ed was frustrating.
