Excellent, to do absolutely - We were received like kings while we were ahead. The visit and the explanations, although in English while we are French, were very well understood thanks to the Italian gesture of our interlocutor. Tasting oils with very different flavors won us over to the point of bringing some home and allows us to have some Crete in France.

Great place to visit. - Very good value for money. Our guide Eleanor was a great source of information. We were told about the oil production first outside under some shade, then looking at an olive tree then finally in their production room. Dry small scale but perfectly formed. Lastly we tasted some oils. It was really interesting. Probably Not great for under 10s but great for all other ages. We really enjoyed it (and got all of our gifts in the shop afterwards!).

Great value, small tour and tasting - When we looked for something different to do on our first visit to Crete we fell in love with the idea of an olive oil tasting. The olive mill isn’t far from Heraklion (a few kms from Knossos) in the heart of agricultural land. Definitely use a sat nav to guide you here, it’s worth it. Elena, our guide, warmly welcomed us into shaded seats on the courtyard where she told us all about olive farming in Crete, took us to see one of their olive trees (nearby as I am currently using a stick to aid my walking) and then gave us a guided tour of their mill, explaining their traditional and organic process. This was hugely informative and she welcomed questions from our small group. We then got shown how to taste olive oil like a professional and grade it on fruitiness, bitterness and spiciness. We had the opportunity not o my to taste their 3 very excellent olive oils, but also some flavoured oil, a delicious local balsamic vinegar and a grape sugar syrup called petimezi. Needless to say we did buy some of the produce at their shop before heading onwards. This is a great value tour, led by informative guides and I’d recommend it to anyone visiting the Heraklion area.

Great olive oil understanding - An incredible experience. The lady owner was extremely knowledgeable and we learnt some really useful tips. We certainly, now know what to look for when buying olive oil. We were offered water throughout the morning, it was very hot. Very pleasant atmosphere and clean environment. Beautiful olive trees. The tasting session was an interesting experience too. Great products for sale. We recommend 100%.

Outstanding hosts welcomed us to this charming family run olive mill in beautiful scenery. Definitely worth a visit. - Fabulous tour of the olive mill is followed by the opportunity to sample the products of this organic farm. The host family and all their staff are extremely knowledgable and their welcome to every guest puts everyone at ease. Water is provided as well as seating in the shade whilst you listen to an excellent guide to olives and olive trees before seeing the olive trees up close and visiting the mill itself. Easy to find on Sat nav. Possibly the best trip we’ve done on Crete. Would highly recommend this. Thank you to everyone at Koronekes Olive Mill.

Great way to spend an afternoon! - I learned a lot about olive oil production during the tour. Elena was very knowledgeable and a great hostess. I liked the experience so much that I returned the next day for the cooking class. Maria was an excellent teacher, and Kiara was a very helpful translator. Together we made a beautiful and tasty traditional meal. Will do this again when I next visit Crete!
