Arequipa/ Cabanaconde/ Sangalle
Cabanaconde - Between 03:00 and 03:30 am, guests will be picked up from their hotel in Arequipa and set off for the Colca Canyon. After about four hours of travel, they will reach the main town of Valle, Chivay, where breakfast will be served. The tour will then continue to the town of Cabanaconde, the starting point for the descent to the base of the Colca Canyon. Along the way, travelers will enjoy various breathtaking views. Upon reaching the canyon’s base, they will cross a bridge to arrive at the town of San Juan de Chuccho, where a break and lunch will be taken amidst the stunning mountain scenery. The journey will proceed on a steep path for about an hour to the town of Cosnihua, followed by a flatter route to the town of Malata. After 6 to 7 hours of walking, the day will conclude in Sangalle (Oasis), a picturesque spot nestled between the canyon mountains, where guests can enjoy a refreshing swim in the local pools. Dinner and overnight accommodation will be in basic cabins.
Sangalle/ Cabanaconde/ Chivay/ Arequipa
Chivay - At 04:30 am, the ascent will begin on a zigzagging and steep path, but after approximately 3 hours, participants will have the rewarding experience of completing this beautiful route. Breakfast will be served at a local restaurant, followed by a trip to the Cruz del Condor viewpoint. This renowned viewpoint offers one of the most stunning views of the Colca Canyon and is a prime spot to witness the majestic flight of the condors. The tour will return to Chivay, with an opportunity to visit the Calera and enjoy the soothing hot springs. After lunch, the journey back to Arequipa will commence, with an expected arrival between 5 and 6 pm. Guests will be transferred to their accommodation, marking the end of the services.
