Beatiful day at the market, walking and combining food with culture/history - Karla was a fantastic tour guide and the organization, historical facts, and quality of the food sites chosen was outstanding. We especially enjoyed the San Camilo market with samples of sancuyo, tumbo, and granadilla local fruits along with the description of the ceremonial pieces used for rituals to pachamama. The walking in between eating certainly was packed with learning and great views. And all the food stops were very delicious outside of the market including the kola escosa, rocoto relleno, cuy and alpaca, picanteria with ocopa and liquor/chicha drink combos. Would reccomend

Foodies, do this tour! - Could not recommend this more!! Karla was fantastic and knowledgable and so proud and connected to her home city of Arequipa, it made it a really special introduction to the area. It was a one-of-a-kind food tour that I will never forget, and oh the food was so good. Very different than many of the other food tours and that is what it made it so unique and special.

Best Food Tour in Arequipa - A Must Do! - Because our plane arrive at 6:00pm, we were treated to a private 2-person night time tour that started at 7:00pm. Every stop was fantastic, not only from a culinary perspective but also from a historical perspective. Our guide, Karla, could not have been nicer, friendlier or more knowledgeable. She was an absolute doll. We’ve taken food tours in many countries and this was one of the best. I highly recommend it. Hopefully, you too will get Karla as your guide.

Delightful afternoon with Carla - This wonderful tour started in the big city food market, and Carla introduced us to some unique fruits that we had never tried before. She also spent time with us to purchase a locally-made Strawhat and negotiated the price for us. As someone who grew up in Arequipa, she was very knowledgeable about local ingredients and local cuisine. As our tour started at 12:30 PM, after the visit to the market, she took us to a nice restaurant on the second floor of the former Jesuit seminary and later introduced us to some more challenging food, (I don’t wanna spoil it) which was delicious, at a small restaurant on the northern end of downtown. After that, we went west over the bridge and visited a pecanteria, where we got to grind the ingredients for a special sauce that accompanied a variety of appetizers and drinks. Finally, we got to try the local ice cream that was also delicious. Overall, Carla is an A+ tour guide with excellent English skills and broad knowledge of the topics that she covered.
