Patahuasi - The journey begins with a pick-up from hotels in the city center, heading towards the breathtaking Colca Valley. The route skirts the slopes of the “Chachani volcano” and leads to the “Salinas and Aguada Blanca” national reserve, where visitors can admire South American camelids like vicuñas, llamas, and alpacas. A stop in Patahuasi offers the chance to enjoy hot beverages such as muña and chachacoma (mate Inca) to help prevent altitude sickness.
Salinas y Aguada Blanca National Reserve - The tour continues to “Tocrapampa” to explore natural wetlands and observe high Andean and migratory birds.
Abra Patapampa - Stops are made at the “Volcano Lookout” (Patapampa) at 4910 meters above sea level, offering views of the “volcanic mountain ranges” and marking the highest point in the Colca Valley.
Chivay - The descent leads to the village of Chivay for lunch, with options for a buffet (not included), à la carte, or menu, featuring novoandino dishes.
Hot Springs Chacapi - The journey continues to the Chacapi Hot Springs in Yanque, where visitors can relax in thermal medicinal pools with waters above 35°C. There are various activities available, such as horseback riding, exploring Colca trails on ATVs, or experiencing the thrill of a Zipline (activities not included). After nearly two hours, the tour returns to Chivay for hotel accommodation.
Chivay - In the evening, dinner (not included) is optional at a tourist restaurant, where guests can enjoy a performance of traditional Colca dances and socialize with other canyon visitors.
Chivay – Condor Cross - Puno
Yanque - In the morning, after breakfast, the tour heads to the Condor Cross viewpoint. Passing through Yanque, visitors can explore its church and square.
Mirador Cruz del Condor - The journey continues through the enchanting valley, passing stunning landscapes and traditional villages, arriving at 8:10 am at the Cross of the Condor viewpoint. Here, visitors can witness the majestic flight of the condors, large Andean birds that are a symbol of the Andean Mountains and culture. The viewpoint offers a full view of the Colca canyon, one of the world’s deepest at 4160 meters.
Mirador Antahuilque - On the return trip, stops are made at the Wayrapunku, Antahuilque, and Choquetico viewpoints for photographic hiking.
Maca - The tour visits the town of Maca, which still preserves its colonial “Santa Ana” church, where visitors can try the “Colca Sour.”
Laguna Lagunillas - After returning to Chivay for lunch, the tour boards a bus to Puno from Chivay station.
On the way to Puno, travelers can once again enjoy the views of the high Andean region, with a brief visit to the “Cordillera Volcánica” viewpoint. If desired, drinks or snacks can be enjoyed in “Patahuasi,” and the final stop is at “Lagunillas” in the Puno sector to observe and photograph South American birds and camelids.
