First Day

Arequipa - The journey begins with a pick-up from the hotels located in the center of Arequipa at 7:30 a.m.

• This tour includes a visit to one of the world’s deepest and most stunning canyons. Arrival at the valley is scheduled for lunchtime.

• The route starts towards Yura, entering the Salinas and Aguada Blanca National Reserve, where visitors can admire the vicuñas, wild animals from the South American camelid family, protected by the reserve.

• Nearby is the town of Patahuasi, where it is recommended to try the traditional Mate Inca, a drink essential for combating altitude sickness (soroche) as it contains natural herbs like Coca Leaf, Muña, and Chachacoma.

Colca Canyon - • A brief stop will be made at the Toccra Bofedales to observe numerous Alpacas grazing freely.

• Another must-see is the Mirador de los Volcanes, the highest point on the path at 4900 meters above sea level, offering views of the volcanic chain of the western mountain range. After this, the descent begins, lasting approximately 40 minutes, to reach the town of Chivay.

• Arrival in Chivay is around 1 p.m. for a delightful traditional lunch.

• After lunch, guests will check into their hotels and then visit the thermal baths, which are beneficial for the skin and bones. These thermo-medicinal baths come highly recommended.

• Dinner will feature a folklore show with traditional dances from the region.

Second Day

Colca Canyon - • Breakfast will be served at the hotels. Post-breakfast, the journey continues to the Mirador de la Cruz del Cóndor, a 35-minute drive, offering views of the Colca Canyon and the majestic flight of the Condor.

• Visitors will spend approximately 45 minutes here to take in the breathtaking views of the Colca Canyon.

• On the return trip, there will be various stops at viewpoints to admire the impressive pre-Inca terraces of the valley. The tour also includes visits to the colonial towns of Yanque and Maca, where guests can see colonial churches and enjoy traditional dances. Local drinks, such as the Colca Sour made with regional ingredients, can be sampled.

• Lunch will be in Chivay before returning to Arequipa.

Arrival in Arequipa is expected around 5:30 p.m., with drop-off near the main square.
