Patahuasi - A stop is made to enjoy a delightful Coca tea, perfect for acclimatization, with facilities available before continuing the journey.
Tocra - This location offers the chance to observe various Andean birds, including Ducks, Andean Geese, and Coots.
Abra Patapampa - Reaching the highest point of the route, Patapampa, also known as the Volcano Viewpoint, at an elevation of 4910 meters above sea level, visitors can admire Nevado Ampato, the active Sabancaya volcano, and Mismi, the source of the Amazon River.
Plaza de Armas de Chivay - Upon arrival in the Colca Valley (Chivay), a buffet lunch (not included) featuring a variety of traditional local and national dishes is available, followed by a short rest at the hotel.
Hot Springs Chacapi - In the afternoon, a relaxing visit to the hot springs of Chacapi or Puye is planned, where temperatures range from 32 to 39 degrees Celsius, originating from volcanic activity.
Chivay - The evening includes an optional dinner show, showcasing the culture of the Colca Valley and offering a delightful meal.
Chivay-Cruz del Condor-Arequipa
Yanque - A stop in the charming town of Yanque reveals one of the finest churches of the Colca Valley from the 17th and 18th centuries, with children dancing in the town square.
Maca - In Maca, visitors can sample the traditional Colca Sour, a drink made from the fruit of the Andean cactus “Sancayo,” visit the church, and take photos with alpacas and llamas adorned for guests.
Mirador Antahuilque - Here, the impressive pre-Inca and Inca agricultural terraces are visible, producing key regional products like potatoes, corn, barley, wheat, and quinoa, offering a fantastic view.
Mirador de Wayra Punku - This spot provides a panoramic view of the entire valley, offering a unique experience in one of the country’s most significant valleys, ideal for personal and group photos.
Mirador Cruz del Condor - The highlight of the trip, where the majestic flight of the Condor, one of the world’s largest birds, can be observed as it navigates the thermal currents of the Canyon, demonstrating its dominance in the Andes, along with views of the Colca Canyon, one of the planet’s deepest.
Chivay - Returning to Chivay for lunch (not included), the journey back to Arequipa concludes near the Plaza de Armas. For those connecting to Puno, a drop-off at the designated station in Chivay is available.
