Salinas Salt Lagoon Full-Day Trip from Arequipa

Laguna de Salinas - At 07:00, you will be picked up from your hotel in Arequipa for a scenic 3-hour drive to the Salinas Lagoon. The journey follows a paved road towards Baños de Jesús and Chiguata (3000M), then continues uphill on dirt roads along the slopes of Pichu Pichu. Visit Salinas Luicho, where you may encounter native wildlife such as South American camelids, llamas, alpacas, and various bird species. If the lagoon has enough water, you might enter Salinas Salt. Enjoy views of Ñuñu (a small volcano) and the Ubinas volcano. An optional hike (maximum 3 km) is available. Return to Arequipa around 5:00 pm.

Arequipa - Salinas National Reserve - Colca with Short Hike at Yanque Village

Uyo Uyo Archaeological Site - Begin at 15:00 to hike to the Uyo Uyo Archaeological Site for Incan ruins and stunning natural views. Climb the relatively easy trail and enjoy panoramic views of Colca. Entrance fee: USD 1.5 per person.

Colca Canyon Viewpoint - Condors - Puno

Uros Floating Islands - At 06:30, you will be picked up from your hotel in Puno by a local guide and transferred to the harbor. Begin the boat excursion of Lake Titicaca by visiting “The Uros Floating Islands,” a small community that has lived on these reed islands for decades. Centuries ago, the small indigenous Uros tribe created the islands to isolate and protect themselves from rival tribes, the Collas and the Incas. Supporting the local people by purchasing their artisan products is encouraged.

Taquile Island - “Taquile Island” is a traditional Quechua-speaking community with ancient agricultural terraces. The Taquile population was relatively isolated from the mainland until the 1950s, and the sense of community and family remains strong. The weaving tradition on Taquile Island dates back to early civilizations, preserving elements from pre-Inca Andean cultures. All weaving is done on pre-Inca fixed and pedal looms. The most characteristic garments are the “Chullo.” Upon reaching Taquile Island’s shores, walk up a narrow path, enjoying impressive views of Lake Titicaca and charming houses inhabited by direct descendants of the Inca Culture. At the top of the island, you will have free time to explore and later enjoy lunch. Descend to the harbor to take the boat back. Arrive in Puno at 5 pm, then transfer to your hotel.

Terminal Terrestre Puno - At 20:15, you will be picked up from your hotel in Puno and transferred to the bus station to travel by CRUZ DEL SUR night bus to Cusco, a 7-hour journey. Departure: 22:00 (arrive at the station one hour before). Arrive in Cusco the next day at 4:30 am, where a driver will meet you at the bus station to transfer you to the hotel.
