Arrival at Estancia Cristina

As I stepped off the boat onto the shores of Estancia Cristina, nestled in the north-westerly corner of Lake Argentino, I was immediately enveloped by the raw beauty of Patagonia. The journey from El Calafate had been a scenic marvel, with towering mountains and bobbing icebergs setting the stage for what promised to be an unforgettable adventure.

Riding with the Gauchos

The highlight of my stay was undoubtedly the horseback riding expeditions led by the fabulous gauchos, Lucas, Augustine, and Lucien. Each day, we set out on horseback, traversing high elevations, forest trails, and riverbeds within the breathtaking Los Glaciares National Park. The gauchos, with their deep knowledge of the land and its history, shared stories of the region’s rich cultural heritage and the importance of preserving its natural beauty.
