- Saint Theodore Lighthouse - The journey continues to Argostoli’s iconic “fanari” lighthouse. Constructed by Governor Napier during the British occupation, the Fanari of St. Theodore stands as a symbol of Argostoli.
- Sinkholes of Argostoli - The Katavothes Sinkholes are among the world’s most fascinating geological wonders, sparking much discussion. Located along the Fanari road from Argostoli, the sea water rushes through holes in the shoreline rocks, disappearing underground and reemerging at Melissani Lake Cave and Karavomilos.
- Drogarati Cave - Discovered 300 years ago, Kefalonia’s Drogarati Cave opened to the public in 1963 after an earthquake revealed its entrance. This spectacular cave features stunning stalactite and stalagmite formations. Speleologists estimate the cave to be approximately 150 million years old, marking it as a remarkable geological phenomenon. The cave is about 60 meters deep and maintains a constant temperature of 18 degrees Celsius, with high humidity.
- Melissani Cave - Melissani Lake is a breathtaking highlight of Kefalonia. Tickets for the lake tour (not included in the price) allow visitors to explore by boat, passing the islet where excavations occurred. The cave walls feature stalactites and flowstones with unique shapes, some resembling dolphins, which the boatman will highlight, as dolphins hold mythological significance. The lake’s secrets remain largely undiscovered. The water is brackish, fed by several springs, including “Katavothres” near Argostoli. An earthquake caused part of the cave’s roof to collapse thousands of years ago, allowing daylight to illuminate the lake’s deep blue waters.
- Karavomilos Lake - Located just outside Sami, towards Agia Efimia, Karavomilos is a quaint fishing village with a long, narrow shingle beach offering stunning views of Ithaca. Named after a small circular lake near the local water mill, the area is rich with foliage, attracting wildlife such as ducks, swans, and herons. The lake is part of the underground flow phenomenon from Katavothres near Argostoli to Melissani Lake.
- Antisamos Beach - Antisamos Beach is one of Kefalonia’s most popular spots for swimming and sunbathing. Situated 30.6 kilometers east of Argostoli and near the port of Sami, there is ample time to enjoy a swim here.
- Agia Effimia - Agia Efimia is a picturesque beach village 31.5 kilometers northeast of Argostoli, Kefalonia’s capital. It offers tranquility, with numerous charming taverns and shops. Nestled around a natural bay, it features a modest harbor where fishing and excursion boats dock.
- Divarata - Divarata is a small village above Myrtos Beach, where visitors can stop to purchase souvenirs and enjoy refreshments.
- Myrtos Beach - The drive above Myrtos Beach leads to a famous photo spot, perfect for capturing stunning images. A drone is available for unforgettable aerial photos.
- Assos - Known for its unique location, Assos Village is set on a mountain with a castle above. Visitors can enjoy lunch or a leisurely walk around the village.
- Fiscardo Harbor - Arriving at the traditional village of Fiscardo, which remained unchanged after the great earthquake, visitors can enjoy dinner or lunch and visit the old Venetian lighthouse.
