- Corgialenios Istoriko kai Laografiko Mouseio - The Korgialenio Historical and Folklore Museum explores and promotes both urban and rural life in all its aspects, including clothing, home economy, family and social life, folk art, and leisure. It also highlights the ecclesiastical art and worship practices of the Kefalonians. Additionally, it addresses the pre-earthquake architecture and urban planning, the devastation caused by the 1953 earthquake, and the subsequent reconstruction. The museum honors notable individuals, both Kefalonians and others, who have significantly influenced local history.
- Katavothres - The sinks of Argostoli are considered a “mystery” by many in Kefalonia. At the edge of the Argostoli Peninsula, the sea enters the land and flows into sinkholes, a phenomenon that has puzzled scientists for years. In 1963, geologists Viktor Maurin and Josef Zötl from the University of Graz poured 160 kilograms of paint into one of the sinks. Two weeks later, traces of the color appeared in springs on the opposite side of the island, 14 km away, as well as in the Melissani lake cave. These sinks are karstic gaps that drain the waters of rivers flowing into the polga. Interestingly, the Argostoli sinks are a system of crevices located below sea level, constantly receiving sea water with force, creating a coastal abyss with a continuous inflow of seawater. Many scientists suggest that fresh water descends underground from Ainos, with an estimated 1,000 cubic meters lost every 24 hours.
- Monastery of Agios Gerasimos - Agios Gerasimos is the patron saint of Kefalonia. The new church was constructed after the 1953 earthquake. Inside, the relics of the saint are preserved in a silver sarcophagus. Although he passed away on August 15, 1579, his feast day is celebrated on August 16. It is also observed on October 20, as when his tomb was opened in October 1851, his body was found intact. He was reburied, and upon reopening the tomb on August 20, 1852, his remains were still intact. Inside the old church, there is an entrance to the saint’s sanctuary, accessible through a medium-sized opening that everyone can pass through regardless of size. Interestingly, visitors need to kneel in the sanctuary, yet there is a belief that they do not get dirty from the muddy floor. Due to the saint’s popularity, this church is a global place of worship, attracting many visitors annually to honor his memory. His body is displayed to the public five times a year.
- Drogarati Cave - Drogarati Cave is one of the largest and most stunning natural attractions in the area around Sami and all of Kefalonia. It is located a short distance from the Melissani lake-cave, within the same geographical region. The cave was discovered approximately 300 years ago when a significant earthquake caused part of it to collapse, revealing what is now the cave’s entrance.

Kouloumpis Travel is amazing. - Our tour was fantastic. Everything was very well organized. We were able to communicate about the itinerary and logistics easily using What's App. Our driver, Vaggelis was terrific and even helped us skip one of the line ups but the star was our guide, Peter. He was everything you would want in tour guide - professional, knowledgeable, friendly, entertaining, efficient, showed his love of his island. We felt more like family than customers. It was a tour we will always remember.
