• Playa de las Américas - Basic Theory (15-20 minutes)
  Before entering the water, the instructor will explain the key aspects of land surfing, ensuring participants start the class with the necessary information and understand what is expected during the water session.

Positions on the surfboard:
The session begins with teaching the basic positions on the surfboard. The instructor will explain the correct posture and how to position oneself on the board based on the dominant side (right or left), as this will affect the direction of movement on the waves. These positions will be practiced on land to ensure comfort before heading into the sea.

Paddling: Participants will learn how to maintain proper body positioning to avoid quick fatigue and achieve optimal propulsion.

The pop-up technique, which involves quickly and smoothly standing up once on the wave, will be taught.

Water Practice: During this session, movements will be corrected, participants will be motivated, and the experience will be made enjoyable. After practice, everyone will return to the shore for a brief stretching session to relax the muscles after exertion.

This activity is ideal for individuals aged 14 and above, offering the thrill of riding the waves at Playa de Las Americas, promising an unforgettable experience.

The session lasts 2 hours and includes all necessary equipment such as a surfboard, wetsuit, booties, and lycra. It begins with a 20-minute theory lesson covering the basics of surfing and techniques to enjoy catching the first waves.

The surfing takes place on a volcanic rock beach, where the waves are perfect for both beginners and advanced surfers. Participants will be guided by an experienced instructor in the water and are expected to follow their directions. At the end of the class, there will be stretching exercises to prevent injuries and a discussion about the experience.

Participants will return to the school to change equipment and shower in our facilities, followed by viewing photos taken by our photographer. The positive energy after surfing is truly magical!

• To ensure a high quality surfing experience and provide optimal service, please review our cancellation policy: Individual Cancellations: According to the previous section, the contractor shall not be entitled to a refund of the price of the product after the contract has been concluded and has accessed the content or has been initiated, unless the service is not provided automatically after the contract. In the event that the service is not provided automatically, the cancellation and/or modification policy will be governed by the following terms and conditions: Cancellations made within twenty (20) days prior to the start of the course will result in a full refund of the payment made (100%). Cancellations made between nineteen (19) days and forty-eight (48) hours prior to the start of the course will incur a penalty of twenty percent (20%) of the reservation. Cancellations made between forty-eight (48) hours and twenty-four (24) hours before the start of the course will incur a penalty of fifty (50%) of the reservation. For cancellations made twenty-four (24) hours and less before the start of the course, the amount paid will not be refunded.
• Group classes: Minimum participants: Group classes require a minimum of 3 students to proceed. If the minimum is not reached: If the minimum number of participants is not reached, we will offer you the following options: Change of day and time: You can choose a new day and time for the class, subject to availability. Private lesson: If you prefer a personalized experience, you can book a private lesson for an extra charge of 35 euros. In this private class, you will receive more personalized attention and can tailor the session to your specific needs.
• General conditions: We understand that unforeseen circumstances may arise, but please notify us as soon as possible if you need to cancel your reservation. In the event of cancellation by the school due to adverse weather conditions or force majeure, we will offer you an alternative date or a full refund. Ocean Life Tenerife reserves the right to modify this policy at any time. We recommend reviewing this policy periodically before making a reservation.
• Please arrive at least 15 minutes before your scheduled class time to register and prepare. If you arrive more than 20 minutes late, you will forfeit your reservation without refund. What to wear We recommend bringing a swimsuit and towel. Surfing can be physically demanding. Please make sure you are in good health and comfortable on the water. Safety comes first Your safety is our priority. Please listen carefully to all safety instructions and follow your instructor’s instructions at all times. Parking Parking is limited near the surf school. We recommend arriving with extra time to find parking, especially during high seasons. • If the maximum number of students is not reached and there are only 2 people in total in the group booking, only an extra amount of € 20 per person will be charged to take the semi-private class
• Premium Surf Group Lessons: Small groups (3–5 per certified instructor). All equipment included, accident insurance, showers, facilities & lockers. Polish, French, German & Russian lessons available on request (min. 3 days notice, subject to availability).
