Mount Meru - We drive from Arusha to Momela-Gate. After a short registration at the Gate our walk will begin with full armed ranger escorting us, simply we can see along the way the wild animals including elephants, zebras, and giraffe, monkeys, antelope, and often elephants along the route. Dinner and overnight night at Miriakamba Hut.

The 4-Day Mount Meru Climb & Hike is an excellent way to acclimatize before tackling Mount Kilimanjaro. As Africa’s third highest peak and Tanzania’s second highest mountain at 4,568 meters, Mount Meru offers a unique trekking experience. Situated in Arusha National Park, a true gem of Tanzania, this location provides trekkers with opportunities to observe the diverse wildlife in the area.

Due to its location in Arusha National Park, hikers are required to be accompanied by an armed ranger because of the abundant wildlife on the mountain. On the lower slopes, hikers are likely to encounter elephants, giraffes, and buffalo. As the ascent continues, the trail follows the north rim of the volcano’s crater along a striking ridge line. Throughout the journey, hikers stay in designated huts along the trail. Reaching the summit at sunrise, hikers are rewarded with breathtaking views of Mt. Kilimanjaro and the Mt. Meru Crater. The Meru Climbing Permit is valid for 12 hours.
