Tarangire National Park
Tarangire National Park - After enjoying breakfast, the safari guide will pick up guests from the lodge for a drive to Tarangire National Park, which takes about 2 hours. Tarangire is renowned for its elephant herds, savannah, iconic baobab trees, and seasonal swamps, all sustained by the life-giving Tarangire River. Wildlife such as giraffes, bushbucks, and hartebeests are frequently spotted near the river. The park is also home to buffalo, zebras, and wildebeests, closely followed by predators like lions and leopards. From the open roof of the state-of-the-art Safari Truck, guests can take in the landscape and observe the wildlife. A picnic lunch in the park includes a delightful assortment of food, coffee, and soft drinks. After a full day of exploring the park, guests will head to their lodgings to relax, enjoy dinner in beautiful surroundings, and retire to their well-appointed quarters at their leisure.
Ngorongoro Crater to Serengeti
Ngorongoro Crater - Following an early breakfast, guests will set out towards the Ngorongoro Crater, the world’s largest volcanic caldera. Nearly 20km wide and approximately 600m deep, the caldera, formed by a volcanic explosion around three million years ago, was once taller than Kilimanjaro. This self-contained paradise hosts an abundance of wildlife, including the Big Five, wildebeests, gazelles, reedbucks, and over 500 bird species. At around 2:00 p.m., the journey continues towards the Serengeti, with arrival at a high-grade tented camp around 6:00 p.m. The Serengeti National Park, known as the ‘Endless Plain’ in the Maasai language, is Tanzania’s largest park, featuring diverse landscapes such as grassy plains, swamps, lakes, savannah, and mountains, along with the creatures that inhabit them.
Serengeti to Karatu
Serengeti National Park - After another early breakfast, guests will embark on a game drive at approximately 6:30 a.m., spending 6-7 hours exploring this remarkable park. The Serengeti is home to a wealth of wildlife, including impalas, buffaloes, crocodiles, and hippos, but is most famous for its massive migrating herds of zebras (250,000), wildebeests (1.5 million), and antelopes (500,000). The animals’ migration is influenced by rainfall and varies annually. In addition to the migrating herds, guests may encounter predators like leopards, cheetahs, and lions. At around 2:00 p.m., the journey back to Karatu begins, with arrival at a carefully selected mid-range partner lodge for dinner in a well-appointed restaurant. Guests can relax by the pool, enjoy a digestif by the fire under the vast African sky, and retire to their spacious quarters for a restful night.
Lake Manyara National Park to Arusha
Lake Manyara - After breakfast, guests will take a short drive to Lake Manyara National Park. This relatively small but diverse park, located 120km west of Arusha, is named after the shallow salt lake that covers about 70% of the park’s area. The soda lake, which floods and dries seasonally, is home to thousands of flamingos and over 500 other bird species. During the park exploration, guests will see monkeys, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, buffaloes, elephants, and, with some luck, lions resting in the trees. The park is known for its varied landscapes, including open grassy plains, primate-filled woodlands, and baobab-dotted cliffs. After lunch, guests will return to Arusha, concluding their adventure, with arrival at approximately 5:00 p.m.
