Lake Manyara National Park
Lake Manyara National Park - After enjoying breakfast, the driver will take you across the Great Rift Valley to Lake Manyara National Park for an exciting full-day game drive.
Despite its modest size of 205 square miles, this captivating park is renowned for its stunning beauty and lush acacia forest filled with giant fig and mahogany trees, which provide a habitat for troops of baboons and blue monkeys. The park also hosts a variety of wildlife, including buffaloes, giraffes, elephants, impalas, and a Hippo lake where numerous hippos gather.
Famous for its over 400 bird species, Lake Manyara is one of the few places where you can spot the Ground Hornbill and the Crested Eagle. The park is also known for its tree-climbing lions and the flamingos along the lake shore, with breathtaking landscapes. Game drives along the lake shore offer incredible views of giraffes, flamingos, and buffaloes against the lake’s backdrop.
Tarangire National Park
Tarangire National Park - Following breakfast, you will head to Tarangire National Park for a full-day game drive. Tarangire boasts a diverse landscape with nine vegetation zones, and ancient Baobab trees, the largest in Africa, dominate the scenery, dwarfing the animals beneath them.
The Tarangire River, winding through the park, attracts a wealth of wildlife, including elephants, lions, leopards, buffaloes, zebras, giraffes, antelopes, and a variety of colorful birds. The park is renowned for having the largest elephant population in Tanzania, offering a chance to quietly observe many elephant families interacting.
A picnic lunch at an observatory within the park allows you to watch animals drinking from the river, and sometimes lions hunting a thirsty zebra or wildebeest. The game drive continues, and later in the evening, you will return to the Camp or Lodge.
Serengeti National Park
Serengeti National Park - After an early breakfast, set off towards the world-famous Serengeti National Park. The drive, though lengthy, is spectacular.
This will be an unforgettable experience for first-time visitors. As you journey deeper into the Serengeti, you’ll understand why its name means “endless plains” in the local language. The park spans 6,900 square miles (18,000 square kilometers), with vast plains stretching to the horizon, challenging your senses and perception of distance.
Home to the Great Migration, the park hosts over 2 million wildebeests, hundreds of thousands of zebras, and various antelopes. It’s a prime location for spotting Big Cats and large predators, including lions, cheetahs, leopards, and hyenas, with many famous television scenes, like river crossings, filmed here.
Serengeti National Park
Serengeti National Park - Spend a full day in the Serengeti National Park. The itinerary is flexible and can be tailored to your preferences.
Each day of the safari, your guide will discuss the best timings for activities, including game drives and wake-up times. For instance, you might opt for a morning game drive, return to camp for lunch and relaxation, and finish with an afternoon game drive, or choose a full-day game drive with a picnic lunch.
Note: An early balloon safari is available for an additional fee.
Serengeti to Ngorongoro
Ngorongoro Crater - An early wake-up is recommended for an early morning game drive when animals are most active, and to witness one of the most breathtaking sunrises.
After the game drive, return to camp for a delightful brunch and continue with the morning drive until noon for lunch. You’ll then pack your belongings into the jeep and proceed with the game drive. After enjoying a hot lunch, continue the game drive in the Serengeti while heading to Ngorongoro for dinner and an overnight stay.
Ngorongoro Crater
Ngorongoro Crater - Begin the day early and descend into the crater floor for an extraordinary morning of wildlife viewing in one of the world’s most stunning locations.
With a dense animal population of approximately 25,000, the crater offers the best game viewing in all of Tanzania. Within minutes, you can see wildebeest, eland, lions, zebras, gazelles, elephants, blue monkeys, and some of the more than 500 bird species in the area. With a bit of luck, you might spot the endangered black rhino.
After the game drive, enjoy a picnic lunch near the beautiful hippo lake. Following lunch, continue with a short game drive, then ascend the crater and exit the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, heading back to Arusha.
