Day 1: Tarangire National Park
Tarangire National Park - Guests will be collected from their hotel at 8am for a visit to this exceptional national park. Tarangire is renowned for its varied landscape, featuring nine distinct vegetation zones. The park is especially famous for its Ancient Baobab trees, the largest on the continent, which dominate the scenery and make the animals appear small in comparison. The park’s river teems with wildlife, including a wide array of birds, lions, leopards, zebras, giraffes, buffaloes, antelopes, and notably, elephants. Tarangire boasts the highest concentration of elephants in the country, offering unique opportunities to observe elephant family interactions. The lunch area is captivating, with an observatory providing stunning views of the river and wildlife, with a good chance of witnessing a hunt during your picnic. In the afternoon, another game drive will be conducted before heading to your accommodation.
Day 2: Serengeti National Park
Serengeti National Park - After an early breakfast, the journey begins to the world-renowned Serengeti National Park. Although the drive is lengthy, it is breathtaking. The route ascends the crater highlands, with a brief stop at the rim for an extraordinary view of Ngorongoro Crater, a truly unforgettable sight for first-time visitors. As the journey continues into the Serengeti, the reason for its name, meaning ‘endless plains’ in the local language, becomes evident. The park spans 6,900 square miles (18,000 square kilometers), with vast plains stretching to the horizon, challenging your senses and perception of distance.
Day 3: Serengeti National Park
Serengeti National Park - Spend a full day in Serengeti National Park. The Serengeti is home to the Great Migration, with 2 million wildebeests, hundreds of thousands of zebras, and various antelopes, including the plentiful impalas and Thomson’s gazelles. For those interested in Big Cats and large predators, this is the ideal place to spot lions, cheetahs, leopards, and hyenas, with many famous television scenes, such as river crossings, filmed here. Smaller animals like foxes, mongoose, honey badgers, jackals, monkeys, baboons, rock hyrax, and African hares, along with over 500 bird species, also inhabit this park.
The itinerary is entirely flexible to suit your preferences, and this day will be organized according to your wishes. Each day of the safari, the guide will discuss the best timings for activities, including game drives and wake-up times.
Day 4: Ngorongoro Conservation Area
Ngorongoro Conservation Area - An early wake-up is recommended to enjoy a morning game drive when animals are most active and to witness one of the most stunning sunrises imaginable. This is truly one of the most beautiful experiences to have. After the game drive, return to the camp for a delightful brunch before proceeding to Ngorongoro, the 8th wonder of the Natural World. Arrival at Ngorongoro will be in time for a sundowner.
Day 5: Lake Natron
Lake Natron - The day begins early with a descent into the crater floor for an incredible morning of wildlife viewing in one of the most breathtaking places on Earth. The crater covers 102 square miles and has 2,000-foot-high walls, making it a virtual Noah’s ark, home to nearly every species native to East Africa. It is one of the few places on the continent where the black Rhino can be seen. The concentration of African wildlife is the highest on the continent. The crater features a river, several swamps, a soda lake with a large population of flamingos, a forest, and open plains. It is also renowned for its elephants, the largest in the world, with enormous tusks due to the mineral-rich volcanic soil and grasses. Ngorongoro Crater is truly a Wonder of the Natural World.
Day 6: Lake Natron
Lake Natron - After a wake-up call with coffee and cookies, guests will take early morning walks to the lake flats to observe flamingos. Situated at the base of Africa’s only active volcano (Oldonyo Lengai) and between the Ngorongoro Highlands and Serengeti plains, Lake Natron is located in a dry and remote area also inhabited by the Maasai. Untouched, remote, and mysterious, this lake is one of the most alkaline in the world and provides a special habitat for millions of tiny crustaceans, attracting thousands of Lesser flamingos. After breakfast, a trek to local waterfalls is planned. These beautiful waterfalls, surrounded by lush vegetation, break the yellow-colored pattern of the savannah. Transfer to Arusha.
