Materuni Waterfalls - Materuni is the residence of the Chagga tribe and remains a genuine tribal village. This delightful location is situated just 15km from Moshi Town and serves as the last village before reaching Kilimanjaro National Park.
Visitors will be collected in the morning by a guide, who will transport them to Materuni Village. Upon arrival, registration at the village office is required before the adventure begins.
The first stop is the waterfalls, which are approximately a 40-minute walk away. During the journey, the guide will share insights about the Chagga culture, village life, and provide explanations about the local flora and fauna. The scenery is absolutely stunning, and with some luck, the summit of Kilimanjaro may be visible. Upon reaching the waterfalls, visitors will be greeted by a spectacular sight, as they stand over 80 meters tall. The pool at the base of the waterfall offers a perfect spot for a refreshing swim, so be sure to bring swimwear!
