Nice Adventure to Materuni and Hot Springs - Was a very nice experience to see the Materuni Waterfall and Hot Springs. Especially the waterfall was incredible. Pure power of nature.
The weather was rainy, so the hiking to the Materuni was slippery and a little challenge, but it was worth it (hiking shoes and rain jacket are helpful).
Hot springs were nice as well. Even in May the water was enjoyable and warm enough to have a little swimming.
At least we want to recommend our Tour Guide and driver Ilfan from Suricata Safaris. A very kind and friendly person. Also he had a great knowledge about the Materuni and the people living there.
So overall it was a nice adventure trip we can recommend.

Such a beautiful day ! - Wow! Our guide Ilfan took us on such a special tour to the waterfall and hot Springs. We loved being amidst the mountains and trekking down to the Falls. They were stunning and the adventure was fun. We were so impressed by the meal provided by the Materuni locals, with most dishes made from banana. It was such a lovely experience ! We had lots of fun with the coffee process and coffee party, those guys know how to vibe. We finished the day at the most stunning pools at Chemka hot Springs with pristine crystal clear water and gorgeous jungle trees. Ilfan was so wonderful the whole day making sure we had a great experience and got lots of photos. Highly recommend !

Great daily activities if you are around Arusha! - I thought the hike to the Materuni Falls was splendid. If you are looking for a daily activity around Arusha/Moshi and don’t feel like doing anything too strenuous, this activity is perfect. If the weather allows, you’ll get some great snapshots of the snowed out Kilimanjaro peak. The hike itself is beautiful through jungle landscapes and the waterfall is gorgeous. Highly recommend brining a towel and a swim suit, if you dare to dive into the cold waters. That feels particularly good after a solid “African massage” drive to get to the Materuni Village.
The coffee farm experiences is cool and a nice way to end the trip. You’ll hear about how they prepare the coffee at the villages, a little bit about the Chaga tribe and listen to some ritual songs. The coffee was pretty tasty!
The Chemka Waterfalls was perhaps the greatest of surprises. After a long drive through a super dry region of Arusha you get to the coolest hot springs ever. Great scenario and super fun environment. Saw a large and colorful lizard which contributed to the experience. Using the swing for a jump into the water is a must!
Our guide for the day organized by Suricata was Obby, and he was great. Fantastic experience with him.
Would recommend for anyone having an extra day around Arusha!

Fun day to see the waterfall! - I had a really good day with Ilfan and Emmanuel! It was very well organised and the pick up was on time. They were very knowledgeable about the Chagga people and the plants in the area and I learnt some extra words in Swahili. The waterfall was great and the walk there was scenic, through the forest. It was 4.5km in total (there and back again). The lunch was delicious and the coffee making was fun! I definitely recommend them.

Day Trip to Materuni Waterfalls - Unforgettable! - Day Trip to Materuni Waterfalls – Unforgettable!
Visiting Materuni Falls near Moshi was an absolute highlight! The hike through the green, lush landscape, past coffee plantations and small villages, was beautiful and feasible for all fitness levels.
The waterfall itself is breathtaking – the clear, falling water and the opportunity to bathe in it were magical. Especially impressive was the traditional coffee ceremony, where we could experience firsthand how coffee is made. The freshly made coffee tasted fantastic!
The organization was excellent, our guide friendly and well informed. This excursion offers the perfect combination of nature, adventure and culture – a must for anyone visiting Moshi! Five stars!

Beautiful hike and experience - Our guides Ilfan and Emmanuel were super informative and easy-going! They made the experience.
The hike is beautiful in general, taking you by the local village and then you get to the gorgeous Materuni falls where you can swim. Afterwards, we did the coffee tour where we took part in the grinding, processing, and roasting the coffee we drank. Lunch was also great, and we made a new kitty friend
