Arusha - Enjoy a relaxing stay in a cozy hotel in Arusha. This is a personalized option, and the hotel can be added at the end of the tour.

Meriakamba Hut

Mount Meru - Guests will be picked up from their hotel in Arusha or Moshi and taken to Momela Gate. The journey begins with a brief registration at the gate. For safety, a fully armed ranger will accompany the group. Along the way, there may be sightings of various wildlife, including zebras, giraffes, monkeys, antelopes, elephants, and buffaloes.

Saddle Hut

Mount Meru - The trek from Miriakamba Hut to the saddle below Little Meru is short but steep. Participants will enjoy a leisurely walk along the ridge, offering stunning views of the Meru Crater and the impressive Ash Cone. Lunch will be served at Saddle Hut, followed by an optional short climb to the summit of Little Meru (3,820m/12,500ft) for breathtaking views just before sunset. Dinner and an overnight stay will be at Saddle Hut.

Summit Climb

Mount Meru - The ascent begins early at around 1:30 am, leading to Rhino Point (3,800m/12,480 ft) and then to Cobra Point (4,350m/14,271 ft). There is an opportunity to reach the summit (4,566m/14,980ft) in time for sunrise, offering a chance to see the peak of Mount Kilimanjaro above the clouds. The final part of the climb features a stunning narrow ridge line bordered by sheer inner cliffs and the crater’s sloping outer wall. A short break for brunch will be taken at Saddle Hut before descending to Meriakamba Hut.

Meriakamba Hut to Momella Gate to Arusha

Mount Meru - The descent from Meriakamba Hut is swift, passing through open grassland and mixed forest. There is a possibility of encountering wildlife during the descent. Arrival at Momella Gate is expected in the late morning, where a return transfer will be ready to take guests back to their lodge. This marks the end of the trek, allowing for a well-deserved rest back in Arusha.
