Arusha to Tarangire National Park
Tarangire National Park - The journey will begin with an early morning departure from Arusha, heading towards Tarangire National Park, where towering termite mounds and ancient baobab trees await. This park is famous for its large elephant population, stunning landscapes, and diverse bird species. Tarangire boasts a captivating array of wildlife, including elephants, lions, giraffes, warthogs, ostriches, impalas, cheetahs, mongooses, buffaloes, and baboons. After the game drive concludes, the group will head to the Ngorongoro Crater rim for dinner and an overnight stay.
Ngorongoro Crater
Ngorongoro Crater - The day will start early to ensure a timely arrival at the Ngorongoro Crater, as morning game drives offer excellent wildlife viewing opportunities. Participants will enjoy a delightful game drive with a picnic lunch inside the crater. The crater’s unique structure encourages animals to reside within, allowing visitors to potentially see all members of ‘The Big 5’ in a single day. The Big Five include buffalo, lions, elephants, rhinos, and leopards. The Ngorongoro Crater formed nearly three million years ago when a massive volcano erupted, creating the world’s largest un-flooded, unbroken caldera. Visitors can also expect to see zebras, hippos, wildebeests, and hyenas. Flamingos can be seen gracefully around the Soda Lake, while vultures often scavenge the remains of predator kills. Other birds include storks and geese. Dinner and an overnight stay will be at Lake Manyara.
Lake Manyara to Arusha
Lake Manyara National Park - The morning will begin with a departure to Lake Manyara, where the day will be spent enjoying a delicious picnic lunch. The park is situated at the base of the stunning Great Rift Valley escarpment, offering breathtaking scenery. A wide range of habitats allows numerous species to thrive in the park. With over 380 bird species recorded, including migratory ones, it is a paradise for bird watchers. Thousands of pink flamingos line the lake’s edge, along with other large water birds like pelicans, storks, and cormorants. Wildlife sightings may include buffalo, elephants, giraffes, impalas, and the formidable hippos inhabiting the water. The trip will conclude in the late afternoon, with a return to Arusha.
