Felt like I was in a nature documentary - My partner and I had the time of our lives on the 3-day Serengeti & Ngorogoro safari! We saw cheetahs chasing a jackal, lion cubs waiting for mum to hunt and bring food, hippos play-fighting, all kinds of herbivores co-existing, beautiful sunsets, elephants walk right next to us... the list goes on and on. I had goosebumps from the sheer excitement of the views—it's really like a nature documentary come to life. Adam (guide) and Pius (chef) were absolutely lovely. They happily answered all of our questions and fed our curiosities... couldn't have asked for better. Highly recommend! If we ever come back to visit Tanzania for a safari, we would chose Suricata again.

AMAZING SAFARI EXPERIENCE!! Definitely recommend Suricata!!! - We had an amazing safari and are incredibly grateful for the staff at Suricata Safaris. From the start, they communicated with us the day before to arrange transport from JRO airport, which was there on time despite our flight running late. They welcomed us and offered from the start to help us retrieve a lost bag (they communicated with the airline to have it retrieved and had it delivered to our hotel, keeping us informed throughout). The transfer guide got us to the hotel safely and explained clearly the outline of the three days. The hotel where we stayed was okay, serving it’s purpose! We left the next morning at 6:30am, where our guide got us comfortable from the start. The safari van was spacious and comfortable. It had outlets, extra seat cushions and refrigerated water bottles throughout the trip. Our game drives were wonderful, allowing us to see the big 5, and tons of other animals. Our guide (Benson) communicated efficiently over the radio to find animals to show us. He answered our questions with ease allowing us to get the full safari experience. When we wanted to stop to see some animals, he did most of the time without hesitation. The food on safari was unexpectedly delicious. Our chef (Samson!) made a mix of Tanzanian food but also global foods, allowing for even the pickiest eaters to have something they enjoy. The food was savory and in abundance. They fed us from breakfast at the hotel to lunch on the first day to lunch on the last day. At the end of the safari, they organized transport to hotels/airports (or both!), making us feel safe throughout the experience. Thank you Suricata Safaris for an amazing experience!!! The only things that we think could have improved is to: 1. Communicate a few weeks before with reminders what to bring [binoculars, toilet paper, a towel (one campsite had a shower), and warm clothes for the night in Ngorongoro] 2. Share via email beforehand a more detailed schedule for how safari will go [the info they gave on the drive to the hotel] 3.Maybe carry a few extra clothes in case bags are lost [seems frequent with airlines here, stores aren’t open when we leave for safari] 4. Making note a bit more clearly that credit card payments have a 5% surcharge, so people can plan on bringing cash if they prefer not to pay this surcharge. These are small details but could take this from a 5 star experience to a 6 star one! If you’re between tent camping and a lodge experience— we would do tent camping again and again! We had zebras and even an elephant walking through our campsites during our stay— it was truly surreal— we are thankful for that kind of accessibility and experience at the price point! If you don’t have much time, we think a 3-day safari was also the perfect length, since it is a lot of driving and we got to see most of the animals we wanted to the first and second days, and the third day was mainly revisiting ones we’d already had the chance to see (in a different, and very beautiful landscape).

Best honeymoon ever! Asante sana! - From the moment we arrived, this safari company exceeded every expectation. Suricata Safari was flawless, and the staff went above and beyond to make every moment special. Very big thanks to NIC BOY who was so amazing at explaining everything that we were going to do, and helped us understand the whole process soo much better. Our guide Benson was not only incredibly knowledgeable about the wildlife and ecosystems but also had a wonderful sense of humor and a deep respect for nature. We also had a private chef, Samson, who’s cooking was FLAWLESS, even my husband who is a picky eater licked the plates. Amazing cultural experience in the gastronomic area! Every game drive felt like a new adventure. We were fortunate enough to witness a cheetah hunting and devouring it’s prey, along with countless other animals — from herds of elephants gracefully moving across the plains to elusive leopards hiding in the grass waiting for gazzelles. Watching a lioness with her cubs at sunrise was one of the most breathtaking moments of my life. The accommodations were equally impressive — well organised tents that kept us safe and warm in the nights. We also had some friendly visitors to the tents: a giant elephant and a family of zebras. Falling asleep to the sounds of the wild and waking up to the sight of giraffes grazing nearby felt like something out of a dream. What stood out most was how the experience was crafted with both adventure and sustainability in mind. The respect for wildlife, the land, and the local communities was evident in everything they did. If you’re considering a safari, stop thinking — just do it. This was hands down one of the most magical, humbling, and inspiring trips we’ve ever taken. Highly recommend it to anyone who wants to reconnect with nature and experience the wild in its purest form.

First time in Africa! - They were incredibly accommodating and flexible, we had issues and arrived late but they were still able to pick us up and give a proper briefing. Love their hospitality and deep fried sausages at the pitstop when we arrived late!

Unforgettable Safari with Suricata Safaris – A True Once-in-a-Lifetime Experience - Unforgettable Safari with Suricata Safaris – A True Once-in-a-Lifetime Experience We’ve just returned from a 3-day safari with Suricata Safaris, and we honestly cannot recommend them highly enough! From the moment we arrived, everything was seamless, warm, and incredibly well-organized. As soon as we got to our hotel, Daniel from the Suricata team was there to meet us with a smile, ready to brief us on our adventure through the Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater. His professionalism and friendliness immediately put us at ease. He was also there to debrief us at the end, which made the whole experience feel so well-rounded and personal. A massive shout-out to Chef Mr. James, who prepared the most amazing meals for us at the campsites—every dish was delicious, fresh, and full of flavor. We were blown away by the quality of the food, especially considering we were on a budget safari. Speaking of the campsites, they were far beyond what we expected for budget accommodation. They had hot water showers, a café with ice cream and chocolate, and a cozy atmosphere that made us feel completely comfortable after long days of exploring. At night, we saw zebras and water buffalo wandering near the campsites—a surreal and magical experience. And nothing can prepare you for the night sky in the Serengeti—we have truly never seen so many stars. It was breathtaking. Our guide, affectionately known as Rasta Man, was incredible. He had an encyclopedic knowledge of the parks, a sixth sense for spotting wildlife, and a warm, infectious personality that made our trip unforgettable. Thanks to him, we saw the Big Five, and so much more. He told us at the beginning: “You arrive as strangers and leave as family”—and that couldn’t be more true. Booking was also super easy and stress-free, with Jackson being incredibly helpful and responsive via WhatsApp. Any questions we had were answered almost instantly, and the whole process felt personal and smooth from start to finish. Thank you, Suricata Safaris, from the bottom of our hearts. You gave us an experience we will never forget. We’re leaving a little piece of ourselves in Tanzania, and we’re taking with us the memories of a truly magical adventure. Until next time – Asante sana!

A memorable safari with Suricata! - We had a blast! The food was great. Breakfast lunch and dinner the chef always prepared a nice meal. Our driver was kind and friendly. He also was the best driver out there. When it poured rain and flooded, our driver never got stuck and went above and beyond to traverse whatever roads that might yield another incredible animal. We saw every animal I could think of and more. Even the elusive rhino. A great value and an awesome team made our trip to Tanzania memorable. Even while traveling here from the U.S, they always remained in communication and made sure we were well recieved on arriving. When I come back, its good to know that I can book Suricata Safaris.

First safari experience - This was my first safari and it did not disappoint!!!we saw so many animals and birds...our guide Gordon was fantastic..he gave us so much information and was patient with all our questions... The food offered at camp had plenty of veggie options...and was flavorful If you are someone who feels cold..make sure to carry a proper jacket and a small travel blanket if you want as it does get very cold and chilly at night at both the campsites... Everything was very organised..from coordinating our pick-ups to bathroom stops to our tent set-ups to the briefings... Would definitely want to come back for another safari 🙂

Gordon was excellent 👏 - Let's start with the not so good... we booked the trip in April but we had to keep chasing for communication..even up to the day before we still hadn't received our itinerary after being promised it multiple times. We had a stressful flight because of this and had we paid more than a small deposit, probably would have ruined the first part. Surprisingly, when we landed there was our name with a transfer. Relieved was an understatement.. from there on everything was exceptional. Transfer to the hotel (we asked for a slightly better one as we heard horror stories about Jevva?? So from the airport on, exceptionally well organised, great communication. Our Guide Gordon did a fantastic job of showing us everything we hoped for, his knowledge of the area and the animals was exceptional and we weren't disappointed. Rhino, Elephants, Lions, Cheetah and even a Leopard!! The camps were great, we felt safe and the food was good. Perhaps a cleaner sleeping bag or definitely take liners. Maybe a social game or some activity in the evening as other than dinner it was quiet but not a problem. Overall we'd give this a 4.5 out of 5. Purely for the bad communication at the beginning. Would definitely do it again.
