Arusha National Park - In the morning, guests will be picked up from their hotel in Arusha and transported to Arusha National Park. This area was also chosen by Hollywood as the filming location for the movie “Hatari,” starring Hardy Kruger and the legendary John Wayne. The day trip includes a visit to the Ngurdo Crater, where buffaloes, waterbucks, giraffes, warthogs, zebras, and baboons can be seen year-round, along with numerous bird species. At the Momella Gate, an armed ranger will join the group for a walking safari, offering a unique opportunity to experience wildlife up close. Few national parks in Tanzania offer such an experience, making it a must-see. Lunch will be enjoyed at a picnic spot, and in the afternoon, the tour will continue in a safari vehicle through Arusha National Park. After ample time for wildlife observation, guests will be taken to Fanaka Lodge for an overnight stay.
Full Day Game Drive in Tarangire National Park
Tarangire National Park - After an early breakfast, the journey to Tarangire National Park begins. This area was a favorite of Hemingway for big game hunting safaris. Since the establishment of the national parks in 1970, the seasonal marshes and endless savannah have been transformed into thriving wildlife habitats. Today, cameras have replaced hunting rifles, allowing visitors to capture the beauty of the park. Tarangire National Park is known for having the highest density of elephants in North Tanzania, with herds often reaching up to 300 animals. The Tarangire River provides a year-round water source, attracting many animals during the dry season from July to October. Visitors during this time can witness a remarkable natural spectacle, observing lions, giraffes, buffaloes, wildebeests, zebras, and various antelopes and gazelles. With some luck, a python might also be spotted! Bird enthusiasts will find over 550 species, including the Masai Ostrich, the world’s largest bird. Around lunchtime, a picnic spot will be chosen before continuing with more wildlife viewing in the afternoon. Before sunset, guests will be taken to MtowaMbu for an overnight stay at Fanaka Lodge.

In the late afternoon, the group will ascend to the rim and proceed to Fanaka Lodge for an overnight stay.
Lake Manyara National Park - Return to Arusha
Lake Manyara - After an early breakfast, the drive to Lake Manyara National Park begins. The park includes the northwest bank and part of the alkaline Lake Manyara, nestled in the Great Rift Valley. It is renowned for its flamingos, pelicans, and cormorants, as well as hundreds of other bird species, making it a paradise for bird watchers. In addition to the diverse birdlife, “Big Game” sightings are possible. With some luck, elephants may be seen in the wooded areas, and with even more fortune, the tree-climbing lions might be spotted. It was once believed that Lake Manyara National Park was the only place where lions exhibited this unusual tree-climbing behavior. Baboons and vervet monkeys inhabit the forested regions, while giraffes and various antelopes graze in the open areas. After a picnic lunch, there will be more time for wildlife observation before returning to Arusha.
