Fun and informative tour! - Group of us visiting for a conference took this tour and had a great time! We got to see a lot of the city we wouldn’t have. Very knowledgeable guide - we learned a lot about Asheville’s spooky history.

Some hills but relatively... - Some hills but relatively easy walk. Funny stories, some a little grotesque if your kids are squeamish but not too bad.

Good entertainment for the night - My husband and I did this tour when we were visiting the area and Tad was our tour guide. We booked the "classic" tour and it took about 2 hours. Tad provided us a brief history of the area and vivid anecdotes of murder and mayhem. He's a good story teller and keeps your interest peaked. He walked really slow, whether it was for our benefit or his or to just draw out the tour, who knows. Did we experience anything supernatural weird during the tour? No.
However, after the tour, I looked back at some photos and I believe I see a figure at the top of the Jackson building. I took 4 photos of the building and in each photo it is posed slightly differently, like it was walking. After doing a little research, no one (alive) is supposed to have access to the top of the building. I also looked at other photos online and in these reviews, taken from the same angle, and I don't see whatever this is. So unless this is some other object entirely...gasp, ghosts are real!
Someone else said in their review something about the homeless population. I did notice a few people in the park during the day before the tour, but not on our tour. At no time did I ever feel I was in an unsafe situation, so don't let that deter you.

Ghost Tour - Interesting. The tour guide was knowledgeable. The stories were intriguing. The blue lady who jumped from city hall was omitted. The down side was there were a grout of pre teen children on the tour who talked while the guide was speaking and made things difficult to hear. It amazes me that the adults did not correct their children.

Boo - The guide is everything. Several years ago I took the tour and as I recall, the guide was also a history teacher. He was excellent, incorporating much history into the ghost info.

Just ok - We couldn’t hear the guide very well through his microphone. While ghost tours can be filled with average stories, a good guide will engage you. We didn’t feel the guide, who was perfectly nice, had enough detail or color to the stories to make them very compelling. We got more out of walking the pretty streets.

Disappointing - Overall, this was a dissapointing tour. I'll start by complementing the guides for their organization and friendliness. They were professional in those regards. The disappointment lies mainly with the content and delivery of the information shared during the tour. Our guide could often be difficult to hear and understand. This was not due to inadequate audio equipment, but rather the guide's tendency to speak too fast with countless mumbling asides. It was as if he has never met a comma. The content of the tour had some interesting historical tidbits. It was disappointing, however, for our guide to describe spooky experiences within some of the historic buildings, but then the tour immediately walked past those haunted hallways, drinking fountains, etc. It would be much better if paying customers were granted closer access to points of interest mumbled about during the tour. It would behoove the owner of this tour business to make some connections to gain at least some access to the very interesting buildings highlighted in the tour.
