As you venture deeper into the forest, you’ll find yourself amidst some of the most mature stands of Lesser Antillean Dry Forest remaining in the Eastern Caribbean, one of the planet’s most endangered habitats! The trees provide shade from the sun and help regulate the temperature. This environment is ideal for endemic species like the Grenadine Pink Rhino Iguana and the Union Island Gecko. With some luck, your guide may spot these creatures for you to observe.
Further along, the trail ascends towards the peak of Mt Taboi, becoming increasingly steep. However, the effort is rewarded with breathtaking panoramic views from the summit.
