Aswan High Dam - The High Dam:
The Aswan High Dam is a rock-fill dam situated at the northern border between Egypt and Sudan. It is fed by the River Nile, forming Lake Nasser. Construction started in 1960 and was completed in 1968, with its official inauguration in 1971.
Unfinished Obelisk - The Unfinished Obelisk:
Aswan was the source of ancient Egypt’s finest granite, used for statues and temple embellishments. The large unfinished obelisk in the Northern Quarries offers valuable insights into the creation of these monuments, though the complete construction process remains unclear. Three sides of the nearly 42m long shaft were completed, except for the inscriptions. Weighing 1168 tonnes, the finished obelisk would have been the heaviest stone piece ever crafted by the Egyptians.

Abu Simbel and Kom Ombo Temples
Abu Simbel Temples - Abu Simbel Temples:
The two temples of Ramses II and Queen Nefertari were carved out of the mountain on the west bank of the Nile between 1274 and 1244 BC. The Great Temple was dedicated to Ramses II, Ra-Harakhty, Amun Ra, and Ptah, featuring four colossal statues. The second temple was dedicated to Queen Nefertari and Goddess Hathor. The temples were dismantled and rebuilt on higher ground, marking a significant achievement by UNESCO.
Temple of Kom Ombo - The Temple of Kom Ombo:
Located 40 km north of Aswan, the temple was dedicated to the deities Sobek and Horus, dating mainly to the Ptolemaic and Roman periods (332 BC - 395 AD).

An Upper Egyptian site dominated by a large, well-preserved temple dedicated to the hawk-god Horus. The Ptolemaic temple of Horus was founded on the site of an earlier temple, dating from the reign of Ptolemy III (246 BC). The wall descriptions include the myth of the contention between Horus and Seth, likely performed annually as a religious drama.

Visit Luxor Temple
Luxor Temple - Luxor Temple:
Located on the east bank of the Nile River in the city of Luxor, it was known in the Egyptian language as Luxor Temple. The tombs were well-stocked with all the material goods a ruler might need in the afterlife, and much of the decoration inside remains well-preserved.
Colossi of Memnon - Colossi of Memnon:
Two massive stone statues of King Amenhotep III are the only remnants of a complete mortuary temple. The statues are made from blocks of quartzite sandstone, originally located in Cairo and then transported 700 km to Luxor.
