Five-star service - Smooth sailing, fascinating history, and five-star service .This cruise has it all. We loved learning about ancient Egypt from our guide while traveling in total comfort. Evenings were serene with live music and great company onboard. Highly recommended for first-time visitors to Egypt.

The ideal way to explore Egypt - If you're short on time but want to see the best of Upper Egypt, this cruise is ideal. We covered key sites like the Temple of Horus and the Luxor Temple without feeling rushed. Meals onboard were delicious, and watching the sunset from the sundeck was just magical.

The boat can get a little... - The boat can get a little loud, especially near the rear. The outings were at odd hours. Still, the overall experience is great. This seemed the best way to go from Aswan to Luxor, stop at the highlights, and not take too much time. The staff and the food is great, with vegetarian options.

Short but nice stay - Excellent stay. Nice activities on the boat, parties, ice cream time, nice breakfast and dinner. Nice rooms and staff are really nice. Mohammed at reception was very nice as well as all the other guys. The chef was excellent and all restaurant staff and cleaners. Very friendly atmosphere. This was a nice way to visit the country for a short stay. Aswan is beautiful, I enjoyed the visits to the temples in Komb Ombo and Edfu. Also the weather was pleasant and I loved watching the sunset on the boat upper deck.

Great experience - We did the cruise on the Tulip boat with the guide Ahmed. Very nice boat and excellent food. Service by employees, very good. The guide Ahmed also very attentive and helpful at all times. As an improvement, the cleaning of the carpet in the room. All right, overall.

2 nights Aswan to Luxor - We did the 2 day cruise in June 2023. It's a huge company with many boats and tour guides. The boat was fine (equivalent to a Best Western or so in accomodations). Our tour guide was entertaining (Ragav aka "Rocky"), and my kids enjoyed his stories. The tour guide rides the boat with you and helps arranges extras (in our case we hired him for another two days in Luxor (Valley of the Kings, Temple of the Queen, Luxor Temple, Karnak Temple) for $180 total with driver), 1 hour carriage ride around Luxor ($45), and balloon ride ($120 for 3 people). The schedule is a bit rough. We had to wake up at 5am the first night for the Edfu tour, and then at 3am the second day for a balloon ride in Luxor (balloons only go in at daybreak because it's so hot (at least in the summer)). The boat itself was nice an relaxing, but we didn't anticipated how disrupted our sleep would be, so plan accordingly. Meals were nice buffets. The description wasn't super clear when I booked, but it includes dinner the first night, breakfast, lunch, dinner the second day, and breakfast the third day. There's also a "tea" which is baklava and tea. They do charge you for bottled water on the cruise and apparently get a bit persnickety when you bring outside water on board. We did it discreetly. Our boat had 5 Americans, 2 French people, and maybe 20 Germans. Overall would do it again, was a budget-friendly way to do a cruise on the Nile without too much time commitment.

Wonderful trip, woud highly recommend - Wonderful trip with great cultural stops! Loved the entertainment on the boat and the food was terrific. Everyone is very friendly and the contactperson of Viator makes sure that you know what to expect for the next stop. Sometimes it takes some time but in the end it will all be arranged. Even pick up from the hotel in Aswan to the boat and from the boat to the hotel in Luxor!

MSC cruises, deal on no deal. - We have been on fifty-two cruises. Three of those cruises were on MSC, one on the Divina and two on the Seascape. I am sure that you have all seen the TV ad for a cruise on MSC, narrated by Drew and Orlando. This is our experience on the two different ships we were on. First, MSC should start a general course on the English language for all crew members dealing with the public. Their job is hard enough without the problem of trying to understand a language that is not their own. Second, one of our room stewards on the Seascape was under-trained for her job. We felt bad for her because she had no idea how to clean our stateroom, place new towels in the bathroom, etc. She was firmly over her head, very sad. Yes, we could have complained, but that would have been adding insult to injury, we decided that we did not want that for her. Third, the price of a seven-day cruise on MSC may be a bargain, but remember that old saying, " you get what you pay for." The food was average, the service was average, so in total the ship was average. "Caveat Emptor" my friends.

Excellent people and shore visits, good boat and food, poor organisation and communication from agency - We travelled on the Mahrousa ship run by Sunrise; the experiences was very enjoyable; the staff were excellent in every way, the buffet lunches and dinners were good quality and varied; the shore visits to Edfu and Kom Ombo were well-organised though very crowded. Our concern was the organisation in advance via Viator who were the booking agent. We paid in advance as requested, we received a very vague document as a 'ticket', with no reference to the shipping company or the name of the boat or the pick up place or the drop off place. We tried multiple times to contact the Egyptian phone number given in our confirmation - no reply at any time. There was no local company name (we found out by chance it was Oceanus in cairo), there was no email address; we could not get info on which boat we would be travelling with, where it left from and when. It felt very unreliable - we ended up phoning Viator in the USA and even they could not get the local agent to reply. The lack of information and contact made us uncertain about whether the mystery boat even existed & we worried about having lost the money. Having booked months earlier, we only heard finally the night before departure. The trip was fine but inaccurately described. It is sold as a 2-3 day cruise, 2 nights on board. And that is strictly true - but only 24 hours is actually sailing, the rest in port at either end. We boarded in Aswan at midday Tuesday but didn't sail until 4pm. We arrived in Luxor at 3pm on Wednesday and sat in port, an unattractive part of Luxor, until breakfast time. The sailing part was of course delightful, just wish it was longer - sitting in port is not such fun. We would not be likely to use this agency again.

Good expectations thwarted - As I have already stated via email/claim/non-conformity, we do not pay for the quality of the service. We are still awaiting response to the email on 6/11/25 regarding BR-1314210765.
