Aswan High Dam - Embark on your Aswan day tour with a pickup from your hotel or cruise ship, heading to the High Dam of Aswan, a marvel of engineering from the 1960s. From the top, enjoy views of Lake Nasser, the Kalabsha temple to the south, and the vast power station to the north.
Temple of Philae - The final stop of the three renowned Aswan sites is often considered the most impressive. The Philae Temple was meticulously relocated to its current site (approximately 500 meters from its original location) due to the rising Nile waters caused by the High Dam’s construction. A brief motorboat ride will take you to the island, where your guide will lead a walking tour through the temple, followed by free time for personal exploration. Dedicated to the goddess Isis, Philae Temple is beautifully situated on a river island, landscaped to resemble its original setting.
Unfinished Obelisk - Proceed to the Unfinished Obelisk in Aswan’s granite quarries, the source of much of the red granite used in ancient temples and statues. The Unfinished Obelisk remains where it was carved, halted by a discovered crack. Your knowledgeable Egyptologist guide will explain the carving process of the 1-ton obelisk and the impact of the crack.
Aswan - Conclude your tour with a drop-off at your Aswan hotel.
Abu Simbel Temple Tour and Train to Luxor
Abu Simbel Temple Complex - Begin your day early with a visit to the Abu Simbel Temple, a breathtaking Ancient Egyptian monument carved by Ramses II from a sandstone cliff. Admire the deities depicted on the temple’s grand façade. Nearby, explore the smaller Temple of Nefertari, the king’s wife, dedicated to the goddess Hathor.
Aswan - Enjoy a comfortable transfer back to Aswan, followed by a transfer to the Aswan train station for your journey to Luxor.
Luxor - Upon arrival at Luxor Train Station, a representative will greet you and transfer you to your Luxor hotel for check-in.
Hot Air Balloon and Luxor Full Day Tour
Nile River Valley - Early in the morning, a “Dr Mo Tours Egypt” representative will pick you up for an exhilarating hot air balloon ride. Enjoy soft drinks before taking a motorboat to the west bank, then transfer to the balloon ride’s take-off area, soaring over Luxor, the world’s largest open-air museum. The “Balloon Ride” operates daily, but advance confirmation is recommended. The ride lasts 45 minutes before landing.
Colossi of Memnon - After the balloon ride, your tour guide will meet you at the Colossi of Memnon to begin your Luxor Full Day Tour. The Colossi of Memnon are Egypt’s two largest ancient statues, dating back to King Amenhotep III’s era.
Valley of the Kings - Next, visit the Necropolis of Thebes, the Valley of the Kings on Luxor’s West Bank. This ancient burial ground is a must-see for Luxor visitors. Explore four royal tombs, including those of Ramses, Horemheb, and Merenptah.
Tomb of King Tutankhamun (Tut) - Optional extra tickets are available for those wishing to visit.
Temple of Hatshepsut at Deir el Bahari - After the tombs, head to the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut (Deir el Bahari), the only woman to rule Egypt as Pharaoh. Queen Hatshepsut was an ancestor of King Tutankhamun and part of the same dynasty.
Temple of Karnak - Visit the Karnak Temple, considered one of the world’s greatest architectural achievements. The Karnak Temple complex on Luxor’s East Bank features the Avenue of Sphinxes, the Hypostyle Hall with 134 massive columns, the Obelisks of Queen Hatshepsut and Thutmose I, the Temple of Amon with lotus and papyrus motifs, the Granite Scarab of Amenhotep III, and the Sacred Lake. Karnak is a stunning ancient monument in Egypt.
Luxor Temple - Explore Luxor Temple, dedicated to the Theban Triad of Amun-Ra, Mut, and Khonsu. Here, you’ll find the granite statues of Ramses the Great. These ancient temples are essential for Luxor visitors.
Luxor - At the day’s end, you’ll be transferred back to your Luxor hotel, airport, train station, or any preferred drop-off location in Luxor.
