Cruising through the ancient civilizations along Nile. - We booked our cruise through the hostel we stayed at in Cairo. The name of the cruise was Semiramis. The rooms were nice but the bathroom can use a little renovation. The tickets to each sight are not included but the transportation and guides are ready for you at each stop. We had a different guide for each city. The last day in Luxor, we had Ahmed Mousa as our guide. He’s very knowledgeable and passionate about sharing his culture and history. He took us to Valley of the Kings, (followed by a quick stop at an alabaster store in workers village), Hatshepsut Temple, Karnak Temple. He was always with us pointing out and explaining the details despite the 40 Celsius degree heat. I appreciate Ahmed Mousa and his patience. He was always carefully explaining and never rushed us to finish. I’d highly recommend him for his professionalism.

Peaceful river scenes between temples - Sailing from Kom Ombo to Edfu on the cruise ship was a pure joy. The boat was so comfortable, with relaxing seating on the deck and beautiful Nile views as we passed small villages and palm trees. One moment I’ll never forget — I was sitting with my friends on the top deck drinking tea when a group of children waved to us from the shore and we all waved back. It was a small gesture but felt really human and warm. The rhythm of the cruise, with the river flowing gently, gave us space to reflect and enjoy the landscape

Luxor Temple glows beautifully by night - Luxor Temple at night was a completely different experience than visiting during the day. The lighting makes the columns glow softly, and there’s something about the stillness of the evening that adds mystery. It was less crowded too, so we could take our time walking through the ancient courtyard. I remember a moment where my wife and I stood quietly between the statues, and it felt like the past was close enough to touch. The lights cast long shadows, giving everything a surreal feel. Luxor Temple after sunset is something everyone should experience.

A deep dive into royal tombs - Walking through the Valley of the Kings with my family was one of the most powerful parts of the tour. Each tomb had something unique — the colors, the inscriptions, and the depth of the chambers were unbelievable. Our guide Mohamed pointed out hidden details that most people walked right past. One of the stories that stayed with me was about the workers who carved the tombs — their precision and dedication were inspiring. The valley was hot, but totally worth the visit. It made me see how much effort went into preserving the afterlife for these ancient kings

Sunrise magic from a hot air balloon - The hot air balloon ride over Luxor was the most thrilling part of the tour. Waking up early wasn’t easy, but once we were up in the sky, it all made sense. Seeing the Valley of the Kings and the Nile from that height was breathtaking. The sunrise slowly lighting up the monuments below was a moment I’ll never forget. There was a short moment of silence in the balloon where we all just stared no one said anything, and that silence said it all. The pilots were professional and made us feel very safe.

Best Anniversary Gift Ever - My husband surprised me with this cruise for our anniversary, and it turned out to be the most romantic thing we’ve ever done. Watching the sunset from the boat’s rooftop, then waking up to see Luxor's temples with an expert guide it was like living inside a movie. The hot air balloon over ancient ruins was a dream come true. We loved how each site had its own story. Everything—from the food to the transfers—was perfectly handled. This wasn’t just a vacation, it was a love story told through Egyptian history.

Peaceful Escape Along the Nile - Sitting on the deck of the cruise ship, watching the Nile flow past ancient temples, gave me a kind of peace I haven’t felt in years. Aswan’s laid-back vibe and the colorful Nubian scenes were unforgettable. The temples of Kom Ombo and Edfu had an eerie beauty that I didn’t expect. I traveled solo, and the crew made me feel right at home. I’ll never forget sunrise over the Valley of the Kings during the balloon ride—it was beyond magical. Every stop held a new piece of history, and the mix of calm cruising with powerful sights made this trip special

Solid choice, great guides, but a little dishonesty with agency - I booked a 3-night Nile cruise from Aswan to Luxor with Fayrouz Travel, which included guided tours of many temples along the way. The tour guides were all kind, respectful, and communicated clearly about pickup and drop-off times. We felt very safe throughout the trip—thank you for that. Several guides went out of their way to be kind to my kids, adjusting the pace of the tours to match their attention spans, which I really appreciated. The temples were fascinating, although a bit repetitive by the end. Still, we learned so much, and I’ll never forget sailing down the Nile, riding in a hot air balloon, and visiting Egypt’s iconic historical sites. The boat we were on—Magic 2—was beautiful and provided good service. While not as luxurious as some of the other ships we saw, it was a solid experience and fair for what we paid. Now for the downsides: While the tour description states that everything is included except entrance fees—which is technically true—be prepared for significantly higher out-of-pocket costs. There are a lot of temples, each with its own entrance fee (ranging from a few dollars to over $20), which adds up quickly, especially for families. Additionally, tipping is expected at almost every turn: drivers, balloon operators, boat captains, carriage drivers, even people who simply open a door or hand you something you didn’t ask for. You may even be asked for more after tipping. While this isn’t unique to Fayrouz Travel, the tipping culture in Egypt is extremely aggressive, so it’s something to be aware of in advance. One major issue we had was on Day 2, when the agency tried to charge us an extra $60, claiming that because our flight out of Luxor on Day 3 was at 4:30 PM, we would need to switch to a private tour after the balloon ride. However, I had specifically confirmed with the agency before booking our flight that the tour would be done by 1:00 PM. After over an hour of back-and-forth via WhatsApp, they finally dropped the extra charge. In the end, our “group tour” turned out to be just the three of us—clearly, they knew all along that no one else was joining and simply tried to upsell us. I found this dishonest and frustrating. Overall, we had a beautiful experience and made unforgettable memories, but I recommend going in with clear expectations about additional costs and being firm if the agency tries to change the terms after booking.
