Exceeded Our Expectations! - After a lot of research, we selected the Movenpick cruise as one of the better rated ships on the Nile river. There was a last minute change from the Royal Lotus to the Royal Lily but it came with a great discount, so we were happy, especially as the itinerary remained the same. They picked us up from the hotel in Aswan and, on return, dropped us to the Luxor airport. Most passengers were part of a tour and the six of us who had booked directly with Movenpick had our own tour guide. We lucked out as our tour guide, Mustafa, is also the head of the tour guides association. He has a great command of the english language, well steeped in Egyptian history, and an enjoyable sense of humor! Mustafa (+20 1000467616). Accommodation: upscale but not fancy. It has 56 cabins, including four Royal Suites. We could have used the upper deck with the pool more! We had an issue with our air conditioning, but they managed to find the parts to fix the controller. Food: All meals are buffet style with enough of a variety to please nearly everyone. Decent quality, variety and quantity. Staff: Our cruise was led by General Manager Mohamed Farouk. We were impressed by his hospitality and leadership. Some nice touches like fresh flowers in our cabin for a special occasion! Cabins were discreetly made up and the laundry service was also excellent. Sightseeing: We saw a LOT! And everything was included in the cruise price. The Temple of Philae, Kom Ombo Temple, Edfu Temple, West Bank and East Bank temples, including the Valley of the Kings and Karnak Temple, in Luxor. We saw everything! Transportation modes included buses, vans and horse carts! Overall, we were pleasantly surprised by the organization and the attitude of everyone we dealt with.
