Arrival Day Visit / Philae Temple / Unfinished Obelisk / High Dam
Temple of Philae - The Philae Temple, recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage site and often referred to as the “Pearl of Egypt,” is a breathtaking Greco-Roman temple complex dedicated to the goddess Isis. It is situated on Agilkia Island near Aswan. Originally located on Philae Island, it was moved in the 1960s by UNESCO to protect it from flooding due to the Aswan High Dam.
Unfinished Obelisk - The Unfinished Obelisk is a colossal, incomplete ancient Egyptian obelisk, still connected to the bedrock in a granite quarry in Aswan, Egypt. Likely commissioned by Queen Hatshepsut (c. 1473–1458 BC), it was intended to be the tallest (42 meters) and heaviest (nearly 1,200 tons) obelisk ever constructed, but was abandoned due to structural cracks, providing insight into ancient carving methods.
Aswan High Dam - The Aswan High Dam is a monumental rock-fill embankment dam constructed across the Nile in Egypt between 1960 and 1970. It was built to control annual floods, supply irrigation water, and generate electricity. The dam created Lake Nasser, the world’s largest man-made reservoir, and significantly expanded Egypt’s arable land.
Sharing Group to Abu Simbel Temple
Abu Simbel Temple Complex - Abu Simbel is a historic site featuring two enormous rock-cut temples in the village of Abu Simbel, Aswan Governorate, Upper Egypt, near the Sudanese border. It is located on the western bank of Lake Nasser, approximately 230 km southwest of Aswan.
Visit to Kom Ombo Temple and Edfu Temple
Temple of Kom Ombo - The Temple of Kom Ombo is a distinctive, symmetrical double temple in Upper Egypt, situated on a bend of the Nile 45 km north of Aswan. Constructed during the Ptolemaic dynasty (180–47 BC), it is uniquely dedicated to two deities: the crocodile god Sobek and the falcon god Haroeris (Horus the Elder). The site includes twin entrances, sanctuaries, and renowned reliefs, including ancient medical instruments.
Temple of Horus - The Temple of Edfu, located on the west bank of the Nile in Upper Egypt, is one of the best-preserved ancient Egyptian temples, dedicated to the falcon god Horus. Built between 237 BC and 57 BC during the Ptolemaic period, its rapid burial under sand and silt allowed it to remain nearly intact until its excavation in the 19th century.
Check Out Day / Hot Air Balloon / Valley of the Kings / Hatshepsut Temple / Colossi of Memnon / Karnak Temple / Luxor Temple
Luxor Hot Air Balloon - A hot air balloon ride in Luxor is considered one of the most enchanting ways to experience the “world’s largest open-air museum.” Most flights occur at sunrise, offering stunning views of the Nile River, the Valley of the Kings, and the Mortuary Temple of Hatshepsut as they are illuminated by the golden morning light.
Valley of the Kings - The Valley of the Kings is a royal burial ground on the west bank of the Nile, opposite modern-day Luxor, where pharaohs and powerful nobles of the New Kingdom (c. 1550–1069 BC) were interred in rock-cut tombs.
Temple of Hatshepsut at Deir el Bahari - The Mortuary Temple of Hatshepsut, known as Djeser-Djeseru (“Holy of Holies”), is a magnificent 18th Dynasty masterpiece located at Deir el-Bahari on Luxor’s West Bank. Designed by the architect Senenmut to reflect her power and divine birth, it features three grand, terraced colonnaded levels carved into limestone cliffs. Primarily dedicated to Amun, it honors her reign.
Colossi of Memnon - The Colossi of Memnon are two towering 18-meter (60-foot) stone statues on Luxor’s West Bank, depicting Pharaoh Amenhotep III (c. 1350 BCE). Weighing 720 tons each, they originally stood guard at his mortuary temple. Damaged by an earthquake in 27 BCE, the northern statue famously “sang” at dawn until restored, associating them with the Greek mythological hero Memnon.
Temple of Karnak - The Karnak Temple Complex in Luxor, Egypt, is the world’s largest ancient religious site, primarily dedicated to the Theban Triad of Amun-Re, Mut, and Khonsu. Developed over 1,500 years from the Middle Kingdom through the New Kingdom, this vast “outdoor museum” features the Great Temple of Amun, the iconic Hypostyle Hall, and numerous pylons, obelisks, and the sacred lake.
Luxor Temple - Luxor Temple is a splendid ancient Egyptian complex on the Nile’s east bank in Luxor (ancient Thebes), primarily constructed by Amenhotep III and Ramesses II around 1400 BCE. Known as Ipet-resyt (Southern Sanctuary), it was dedicated to the Theban Triad (Amun, Mut, Khonsu) and served as the focal point for the annual Opet Festival.
