Aswan - A representative will greet you at the airport, train station, or your hotel in Aswan and escort you to the cruise ship in a private, air-conditioned vehicle.
Aswan High Dam - Begin your Aswan adventure with a visit to the Aswan High Dam, a modern engineering wonder that has harnessed the powerful Nile River, providing Egypt with essential resources. You’ll also have the chance to explore the Unfinished Obelisk, an incomplete monument offering insights into ancient stone quarrying methods.
Philae Temple - You will be transported by boat across the Nile to the Philae Temple, dedicated to the goddess Isis. This temple is linked to one of Egypt’s most famous mythologies about Isis, including how she resurrected her beloved husband, the birth of her son Horus, and the mummification of Osiris after his death. The temple was relocated to a small island called Agilika when the High Dam was constructed to protect it from flooding. It was originally built during the reign of Ptolemy II (Egypt’s Greco-Roman Period). Obelisks once stood in front of the temple, but they were removed in 1918 by British Consul Henry Salt and are now in a garden in Dorset, England.
Visit Abu Simbel Temple Complex and Navigation
Abu Simbel Temple Complex - Early in the morning, your guide will pick you up for a trip to Abu Simbel (with a small group). Arrive around 8 am to visit the awe-inspiring rock-cut temples of Abu Simbel, uniquely designed for King Ramses II and his beloved Queen Nefertari. Return to the cruise by noon for lunch and sail towards Kom Ombo city.
Temple of Kom Ombo - Sail to Kom Ombo and visit the temple of Sobek, the crocodile god, and Horus, the falcon god. Return to the cruise for dinner and continue sailing to Edfu for an overnight stay.
The Kom Ombo Temple: This temple is unique as it was dedicated to two gods (the falcon god Horus and the crocodile god Sobek) and was built by Ptolemy VI. Its design includes courts, halls, sanctuaries, and rooms duplicated for two sets of gods. The southern half of the temple was dedicated to Sobek, the god of fertility and creator of the world (in ancient Egyptian religion), while the northern part was dedicated to Horus.
Visit Edfu Temple & Arrive Luxor
Temple of Horus - After breakfast, enjoy a horse carriage ride with your tour guide to visit the Temple of Horus at Edfu, considered the most complete and best-preserved of all Egyptian temples. Return to the cruise and relax on deck, admiring the unique landscape and beautiful scenery of the Nile River while sailing to Luxor.
Esna - Cross the Esna Lock. Enjoy lunch on board and afternoon tea on the sundeck.
Luxor Temple - In the afternoon, arrive in Luxor City and begin visiting Luxor Temple on the East Bank of Luxor, where ancient Egyptian, Christian, and Islamic features are displayed. Enjoy dinner on board with a belly dancing show and overnight in Luxor. Note: If you arrive in Luxor by 3:00 or 3:30 pm, there is an opportunity to visit both Karnak and Luxor Temples.
Luxor Tour & Departure Transfer
Valley of the Kings - After breakfast and check-out, start your unforgettable day by driving to the West Bank to visit the Valley of the Kings, where New Kingdom pharaohs carved their tombs into the mountains to hide their treasures and protect their mummies.
Temple of Hatshepsut - Next, visit the Mortuary Temple of the famous Queen Hatshepsut at El Deir El Bahari, and discover her beautiful temple and intriguing story with her nephew.
Colossi of Memnon - Conclude your West Bank tour with a photo stop in front of the colossal statues of Memnon. Lunch at a local restaurant is optional.
Temple of Karnak - Return to the East Bank to see the largest temple ever built, Karnak Temple, constructed over 2000 years and covering an area of about 63 acres. Capture stunning photos among its massive pillars and obelisks. Dinner is available at an additional cost. Finally, transfer to your hotel, airport, or bus/railway station in Luxor.
