Marrakech - Ait Ben Haddou - Ouarzazate - Zagora

Ait Ben Haddou - Departing at 8:00 from Marrakech, the journey will lead towards the Atlas Mountains. The first stop is at the Kasbah in Ait Ben Haddou, home to approximately six Kasbahs, where the ancient ambiance is truly captivating. Following the visit to the Kasbah, the next destination is the city of Ouarzazate. This city is renowned for being the filming location of numerous Hollywood blockbusters, including The Living Daylights, Gladiator, and Lawrence of Arabia.
A visit to the Atlas Film Studios is also on the itinerary. Please note that the entrance fee of 3 euros to the studios is not included in the tour price.

In the afternoon, the journey continues through the Draa Valley, offering views of a breathtaking oasis and stunning landscapes, perfect for photography enthusiasts. At the day’s end, camels will be ready to transport guests to the desert Berber camp.

The overnight experience in the Berber tents includes a delightful evening meal and breakfast the following morning.

Private desert excursion - Highly recommend this private tour. The personalized attention is much better than being in a group. It’s a long two days but well worth it to see Ait Ben Haddou, Atlas Studios, and the tranquillity of an overnight stay in the desert.

Amazing trip you shouldn't miss!😀 - Excellent in every way. Good friendly transportation from hotel stopping for breaks and shopping. Camel ride is not too demanding but elderly should only do 2 days. An experience never to. E forgotten.

I went on the 2-day tour... - I went on the 2-day tour to the Zagora Desert with six friends (aged 20-22), and it was an unforgettable experience! Even though the drive was long, (about six hours each way from Marrakech) our driver did a great job breaking up the trip and keeping it enjoyable. On the first day, we stopped for lunch and a tour of a village where Gladiator, Game of Thrones, and other famous films were shot. Our guide, who had even been in some of the films, gave an excellent overview of the town’s history. Later, we headed to our camel ride at sunset, which was a highlight for us. The camels were treated well, which was important to my friends when booking. The view was absolutely stunning, far from any signs of civilization. That evening, since it was a quieter day for the camp, our group of seven got our own campsite area, accompanied by the two guides. They served dinner, made a campfire, and we ended the night singing and stargazing. It was our favorite part of the trip. The next morning, we rode camels back to the road to meet our van for the return trip to Marrakech. The whole experience was incredible, thanks to the amazing team running the tour. Everyone, from our driver, to the village and camp guides, made us feel welcome and shared their culture with us. I have no complaints, but I would add to keep in mind that there’s a lot of time spent in the car. The drive is beautiful and well worth it though! 10/10 highly recommend! A big thank you to everyone who made this trip so special.

Exotic experience - It was a long drive, but worth it. We had nice stops along the way to get some coffee, lunch and also some nice photos of beautifuls sights. The stay at the desert was really something else from camel riding to staying the night at the desert.

A little time for everything - The journey into the desert was rather stressful. The way to Aït Benhaddou took about 3 hours, followed by lunch, and then another 3 hours to the finish, where we rode to our camp with a 40-minute dromedary ride. A clean tent and clean toilets awaited us there. The food was very good and the Berbers were very friendly; they went to great lengths. However, I thought you could have created more atmosphere with torches or candlelight etc. A bit more cosiness and ambience would certainly have done the camp good. Although they later built a fire, the ambience was rather cold. For those who have been to a desert before, it is more of a mini dune desert and therefore rather disappointing. It is more worth booking the 3-day tour, which is further away. The way back was also rather stressful, with short stops to take photos or eat at lunch. In the film studio, 20 minutes was definitely too short. The driver Yousse was very experienced, and the scenery was beautiful.

Overall great experience.... - Overall great experience. We didn’t know quite what to expect and failed to pack a few essentials which affected our stay but that was on us. Be sure to bring a charging cord for the van and sturdy shoes. We would have liked more time to explore the old clay city but enjoyed the camel ride and desert camp. Our guides were great!

A desert tour that could have been better - Miss leading picture on the promotion on TripAdvisor is my first comment. we were taken to what I was told the gate of the desert and not the actual desert, although yes in Sahara region. However, the promotional picture shows the actual sand dunes. Included meals were very basic, and breakfast in the morning was bread, butter, and jam/honey, coffee / tea, For the Non Included lunch we had NO choices the driver took us where he believed (Commission being paid) was good for us, this is NON Sense if you pay for your PRIVATE tour, you should be able to choose your Restaurant for Lunch (have you ever heard about google or TripAdvisor restaurant listing???) The choices of food for lunch wad left to a very simple of selection (same same each day...) Beware of dogs barking during the night (can be very annoying when one is trying to rest) The tents were as expected basics and suited an OK night sleep. Our utmost thanks to our safe driver, Ayoub, who drove us safely for a total of about 770KM. Additionally out Camel handler Mr Moobarak); and guide in the so-called entry of the desert. He was very knowledgeable and offered all possible answers to our questions. The 2 persons mentioned above are to be commended for their excellent work and friendly demeanour with tourists. Overall, if a short trip is what you like (over 350 KM each day and lots of stops, then this is for you), personally, I would do it again.

Would not recommend - The only reason this is a one star is because of the four awesome camel tour guides and the great night we had in the desert with them. From the get go the communication was terrible and remained that way throughout the trip from both the organisers, the driver and at the Aït Benhaddou, where the tour guides there told us multiple different prices and tried to get us to spend money on “necessities” for the desert. The AC did not work in the car, and when it rained it leaked pretty consistently. Booking stated we got two breakfasts, however we got one, which was a piece of bread with spread and a tea. The tour guide took us to two lunch spots, both being far more expensive than everything else around.
