Definitely worth getting up early for!!! - Great communication from Atlas Excursions & our driver Othman, from start to finish of the tour! Although the weather wasn't the typical sunny blue skies, we still enjoyed our travels through the mountains & looking at the mist & snow capped points. Othman answered any questions we had & was an extremely careful driver, especially when you had large tourist transport vehicles overtaking on windy roads! Thanks again Othman for stopping at points we wanted for us to take photos & buy some of the local bits & bobs. We were super comfy also in the minvan, happy out at 7am eating our takeaway breakfast our Riad had prepared. We had a superb & knowledgeable guide called Basjit, who was even an extra in the recent film that was just shot there - The Odyssey, yet to be released....he was very passionate about his job & we wish him all the best for his film career! It was great wandering around & being told the history of it all - I definitely wouldn't have gone without a guide, as you would completely miss out on so much. The lunch buffet in the restaurant overlooking the ksar was absolutely delicious & so much to choose from for vegetarians - second helpings were had. The staff were extremely helpful also. It was a long day, but absolutely 💯 worth it! Thanks for all the tips about Fez too, Othman 😀 I've tried 3 times now to upload photos but Trip Advisor isn't allowing me for some reason!

Amazing day! - Ait Ben Haddou made a strong impression right from the start. The fortified city is over a thousand years old, and the clay and mud architecture has held up remarkably well over time. Wandering through the clay alleys with our Berber guide, Bakhta (spellcheck needed), gave the whole site a sense of real life and history, and the climb to the top paid off with grand desert views. During the tour we learned how many movies had been filmed there over the years, from Lawrence of Arabia to Gladiator. Even The Odyssey was shooting there this past February, a fun surprise for a film fan. We also stopped by a local Berber co-op where the women make and sell handwoven rugs. It was a low-pressure visit, more about seeing the craft up close than a hard sell, and it added a nice personal touch to the day. One thing worth mentioning: there are plenty of stairs and uneven paths, and parts of the walk may be tough for anyone with mobility issues. We came from Marrakech, about a three hour drive through the mountains. It is a long ride, but the views keep it interesting. It doesn’t hurt to have a few podcasts downloaded for the road if that’s your style. In short, I would recommend, movie dork or not!

An amazing experience,... - An amazing experience, along but worthwhile drive through the Atlas Mountain to reach Ait Benhaddou. Our driver Oualid was really helpful and giving us a lot of information on the road, offering stops to take pictures of the stunning view. When arrived at Ait Benhaddou, the local guide was waiting for us and offered us a tour to the historic site ready to answer all our questions. A really big thank to our driver Oualid for making this long trip very comfortable.

A superb excursion - Even if the road is long from Marrakech, the scenery is beautiful so time flies. The minibus was very comfortable and our driver Mohamed excellent and very careful! On arrival it is the dazzle, a site of great beauty with a rich history, very well told by Ali our native Berber guide of the village. A superb experience that we recommend 1000 times!

Exceded Expectations! A must-do for anyone visiting Marrakech - An excellent day out, if quite long. OK, it was a 3-hour trip to get to Ait Bin Haddou from Marrakech, but the route through the Atlas Mountains offered stunning views at every turn (and there were lots of them!) and was well worth it for that alone. But Ait Bin Haddou was just fabulous, and having a personal guide (Hassan) brought the visit to life, learning of the ancient and modern history associated with the site, especially all the major films that had used it as a location. Driving in Morocco, even when you get away from the chaos of the cities, can still be quite frightening, and so we were grateful to Sabir, our driver, who kept us safe and made the trip relaxing. It's a shame that his English wasn't up holding a conversation about something other than football, as we'd have loved to have engaged with him and learned about his life, and his views on world affairs from a Moroccan's point of view.

Great customer service - Excellent customer service from the moment I booked to the end. During booking, the riad I was staying at was not listed as a possible pick up spot, but within a few days, I received a Whatsapp text from Atlas Excursion to confirm they will make arrangement to have me picked up at my riad directly. Our driver, Hamza, was also very courteous and punctual. He made our 3.5 hour drive to and back very pleasant! Highly recommend!

Really glad we did it! - Fantastic excursion! Our driver Hamza arrived at our hotel prior to our appointed departure time and we had a very comfortable Mercedes van as our mode of transport. The drive to Ait Ben Haddou was about 3.5 hours, which included a couple of stops for coffee and bathroom breaks. Hamza was very accommodating and friendly and spoke excellent English. Upon arrival to Ait Ben Haddou, we met our private guide Ali who was born and raised in the village! He was so insightful about the history and architecture of the village... his part of the tour was excellent. The village was absolutely incredible and lived up to the hype... we are so glad we took the chance to see it! Overall, the tour was a highlight of our entire trip... definitely worth the time and money!
