Entertaining Evening - One of the more expensive venues in Vienna, but worth it. The musicians were top notch, and were fully engaged with the music and the audience. A delightful evening of music! Just one criticism: the tickets through Trip Advisor said the concert began at 8:00. It did not begin until 8:30.

Wonderful music from Austria - wonderful overview - In addition to the museum (is very clear), the House of Strauss also offers the opportunity to attend two concerts. The "Classics of Austria" is new but really very good, but the musicians are excellent from Mozart to Strauss and the singer was equally excellent. The second concert is dedicated to the Strauss family and is just as good. The highlight of both concerts is the moderation by Johann Strauss, who gave uniquely interesting and therefore very good information - and also funny

I do not recommend - I cannot recommend the House of Strauss. I wanted to give two stars, but I’m adding a third star because of the hardworking musicians. One part of the experience is an interactive museum that tells you all about Strauss the elder and his two sons (including Johann II who wrote many recognizable pieces like the Blue Danube Waltz). There are some unnecessary elements that utilize AI / tech, like photos and paintings winking uncomfortably at you, as if the Strauss family have allergies in Springtime. The second part of the experience, at least for us, was a musical performance by a 9-piece chamber ensemble. As a former musician, I can say the musicians themselves were fantastic, so what I’m about to say is not about them. But this was the most condescending and confusing performance I’ve ever been to. Instead of enjoying a live performance of music by the Strauss father and son, we were also bombarded with a light show and a PowerPoint behind the stage that showed more moving photos of Strauss winking at us. But okay fine, they wanted to make it interactive and visually appealing to people who have short attention spans at classical music concerts. HOWEVER if you’re going to have multimedia during a concert, then at least explain what a Fledermaus is — some folks I talked to afterwards wondered why there were bats flying around on the screen during one piece. Instead of spending the effort of creating a visually confusing movie PowerPoint that distracts from the musicians, why not explain the story of Die Fledermaus and that a Fledermaus is, in fact, a bat. 🦇 Make it truly educational! Anyway I want my money back. Cannot recommend.
