- Our guide, Eleni, was the Best! She is a former History Teacher and her knowledge of the Acropolis and Museum was amazing. We would never have been able to navigate the Museum by ourselves. The Museum can be overwhelming and she really made it all come to life and explained everything well. We toured the Acropolis early in the AM and it was still very hot. It was closed for a period the next day due to the heat. The Acropolis Tour could be tricky for some people as the ground and steps are slippery and somewhat treacherous; be careful! Amazing and so beautiful!

Our guided tour of the... - Our guided tour of the Acropolis and Acropolis Museum was absolutely fantastic, and a huge part of that was thanks to our guide, Bernardos. From the very beginning, his deep knowledge and passion for Greek history were clear—but what really set him apart was his great sense of humor and engaging storytelling.
He had a way of bringing ancient history to life, making the ruins and artifacts feel more like a vivid story than a history lesson. His explanations were clear, insightful, and often laced with just the right amount of wit to keep the entire group smiling and interested.
The Acropolis is stunning on its own, but having Bernardos as our guide made the experience truly special. The museum portion of the tour was just as enriching—he pointed out fascinating details we would have easily missed on our own.
Highly recommend this tour to anyone wanting to explore Athens' most iconic site in a fun and informative way. Thank you, Bernardos, for such a memorable experience!

Efie is phenomenal - Efie was our tour guide. She is an archaeologist and was able to offer so much beyond an audio tour you might download.
She even gave us wonderful tips on other sites around Greece we are touring in subsequent days. Our tour guide Amy in Delos Island even knew her.

Family of 4 - Anna was the best. Passionate about Greek history. Long line to get inside museum, she stood in line for all of us in blazing sun. And sent us to shade. Super attentive to all of our requests. Made the walk super easy

Good tour Good guide! - Our tour guide was an archaeologist and so knowledgeable! Walked away with a good understanding of the history. She was also good about making sure all were safe on the rocky slippery trails to get to the Parthenon !

Greece is diverse and well worth exploring. - The magnificent of the Acropolis cannot be understated. Be in good health because it is an uphill climb - no elevators. However, we are in our 70s and did just fine. Some other travelors were using canes and wheelchairs (with assistance). They still made it to the top.
We stayed in the Plaka area of Athens which we highly recommend. That area is a bit more expensive than some of the other areas but it is well worth it. It is clean, has plenty of excellent restaurants, and a variety of stores and services.
We could walk to many of the historical sites.
Our first day, we bought tickets for one of the hop-on hop-off busses. We stayed on it for the full loop just to get our bearings.
We planned ahead for tour guides. We advise this especially because of the skip-the-line entrance. We also had specific entrance times.
We only speak English and had no problems communicating with hotel staff, restaurant staff, tour guides, museum staff, and most of the other people with whom we came into contact. Most people are multilingual.
We even took the subway to the archeological museum. That museum has headsets available in several languages.
Notes: We easily paid for most services and items using credit cards. The currency is Euros. Have some cash on you for tips. Look up etiquette for tipping in Greece. It is different than in other countries. Most public toilets are pay toilets and most of them take credit cards.
If you have time, take the trip to Delphi & Meteora. This 3-day (2 night) tour is well worth it. Have fun!
