Best museum - Great building and a great collection and explanation. With a QR code at your smartphone you can get some explanation of what you see. Also kids from primary schools were very interested. Certainly a place you have to visit when in Athens.

A "must do" tour to appreciate the Acropolis and Parthenon. - Sculptures from the Parthenon and excavated pottery that was put back together were amazing. The excavation under the museum was fascinating. We really liked the audio tour that gave information as you explored. Encourage people to bring earphones to listen easier.

Allow plenty of time... - Allow plenty of time because there are so many things to see and read about. You could probably spend several days or a week. The audio guide is very good and easy to follow. The museum cafe was very pleasant and food was good. The museum is very open and spacious. You can go into the museum store without paying the entrance fee. I’m going back to the store.

It’s worth a few dollars to learn so much. - The history is deeper than the Athenian gods, older cultures are revealed here. Amazing artifacts pre date the era.

We avoided the lines. We... - We avoided the lines. We just walked up, they scan our ticket and off we went. . We didn’t to do a guide but there was scan which gave us a map to tell us what we were looking at.

Buy the best skip the line tickets via Trip Advisor - Only through Trip Advisor could I find skip the line flex tickets available. Flex tickets allow you to choose what time you enter the museum the moment when you arrive at the museum. All other skip the line tickets I could find available required the time to be set in stone when the tickets are purchased. There is another Trip Advisor review that urges people not to buy the tickets through TripAdvisor under the theory that the actual tickets were not available for admission. In my experience, this may be because person didn’t know how to access the tickets? After purchasing my tickets, an email later arrived that allowed me to download the actual tickets to my phone. The actual tickets were also available an hour or more after the purchase on the TripAdvisor website. You will know you have the actual tickets when you see a QR code. If you have purchased multiple tickets, you need to simply swipe through the QR code document, and they are all there. It is a beautiful museum and not to be missed. However, it is very warm inside so dress accordingly. Backpacks cannot be worn on your back because of the risk of them hitting a statue. You’re allowed to bring backpacks into the museum, but you must carry them on the front of you. Had a great time at the museum and hope you do too.

Good way to supplement... - Good way to supplement the Acropolis visit, enjoyed the diversity of the exhibition, with a film on the top floor, small reading area and views on the second floor, and the vast exhibit on the first floor. Didn't enjoy the confusion with the restaurant on the second floor- we went to check out the gift shop and when we tried to continue seeing the museum an over aggressive security officer didn't recognize the Viator ticket since she didn't see the date on it

The museum is impressive, both the structure itself as well as the way the collection is organized and displayed. - The top floor, where the Parthenon sculptures are displayed (originals and reproductions), is all glass which gives the sense of being outdoors. The pieces are arranged as they would have been originally. On the lower floors visitors can get up close to some really exquisite sculptures and ceramics. Using glass flooring in parts of the museum so the excavations below can be seen is a bit of genius.

Issued Used Tickets - Horrible Experience - Worst experience ever using Viator. Company they use sent us used tickets, Acropolis Museum confirmed the tickets sent us had already been used September 27th, so could not enter. Museum could not help with problem since tickets were bought thru 3rd Party. This is October 22nd. Wasted about 35 precious minutes communicating with company trying to make them understand & resolve. Exasperated finally bought tickets at the Box Office. Waiting for refund from company, if don’t get it will contact Viator and/or Credit Card Company. FYI-Acropolis Museum is great.
