• Acropolis - MEETING OUR GUIDE. The guide will be waiting at Makrygianni Street, near the Acropolis Metro stop, conveniently located close to the Acropolis Main Entrance.

This meeting point offers a perfect vantage point to admire the surrounding wall of the Acropolis, constructed by the ancient Mycenaean civilization. Here, the guide will provide an introduction to the history of the Acropolis, its significance in ancient Greek life, and an overview of the temples and remarkable monuments you are about to explore.

• Acropolis - TOURING THE ACROPOLIS AND PARTHENON
  The tour begins at the Acropolis, the heart of life in Ancient Athens, encircled by the impressive Cyclopean wall built by the Mycenaeans thousands of years ago. The Acropolis houses the Parthenon and numerous other incredible monuments, including the grand entrance ‘Propylaia,’ through which you will enter. Behind it once stood a massive gold-encrusted statue of the Goddess Athena, which must have inspired awe in any ancient visitor.

Inside, the expert guide will explain the other monuments, including the 420 BC Temple of Athena Nike, the mythical Erechtheion, and other structures like the Theater of Dionysus. Built in the 6th Century BC, it is the world’s oldest theater and would have hosted the first performances of ancient plays by Sophocles, Euripides, and Aeschylus, among others. Finally, you will tour the Parthenon, widely regarded as a masterpiece of science, engineering, culture, and the pinnacle of the Greek Classical Period.

• Monastiraki - 1 HOUR FOOD and WINE TASTING OPTION
  After exploring the Acropolis, the guide will accompany you through the charming Plaka area towards the Main Square of Monastiraki and introduce you to the expert wine sommelier.

In a cozy and intimate setting, enjoy tastings of local products from across the country, such as cheese, cured meats, olives, and jams, along with three 75ml glasses of wine. This is an excellent introduction to Greek cuisine, perfect for first-time visitors.

  After visiting the Acropolis, the guide will lead you through the picturesque Plaka area to the Main Square of Monastiraki and introduce you to the Olive and Olive Oil Expert. This expert will take you on an aromatic and informative journey through the growth, development, harvest, and production of the finest Greek varieties of olives and olive oils.

Tastings involve exploring and recognizing key aromas, which you can sample as distilled aromas, as the expert guide explains their development and significance in the best quality olives and oils. You will then sample Extra Virgin Olive Oils from all over the country. Accompanied by bread, cherry tomatoes, and feta cheese, the guide will explain how these flavors change on your palate with food. Informative videos and information are also included.

At the end of the experience, you are welcome to stay longer or enjoy the fine local wine and traditional quality food if you have time!
