hope on hop off City tour. It was very convenient. We went to a lot of sights and learned a lot about Greek culture and histor - The buses ran on a timely manner. There was plenty of room on the buses. I had an opportunity to experience bothering lower and upper deck

Not worthy - It is not bad, however is the most expensive one of all the companies. Considering all provide the same stops, I really do not see a plus on paying more for this one. Specially considering that all audios are wrongly synchoronized, hence you hear the explnation in advanc of seeing the landmark, and sometimes they overlap. Frustrating indeed

Athens is not for bus tours - Athens is not for bus tours. Lot's of traffic, small distances takes so many traffic lights and honks. I didn't enjoy the bus part. I bundled with Acropolis, hoping for "skip the line" thing. It didn't work well either. You skip the line to ticket office, which you can do anyways directly with museum, but stuck in all other lines, and get zero help from tat company.

Well.. Interesting ride! - For starters, the bus was clean mostly, aside from some small amounts of graffiti and old water bottles on the floor. The bus is covered in an advertising wrap, which makes it hard to see out of some of the windows. Lower your expectations if you believe the bus will run every fifteen minutes. For us, it was somewhere like fifteen to twenty-five minutes. We just took it and stride. The narrator was not overly exciting and sometimes useless, and the music was very bad. The driver was nice enough and helpful, but you could hear his announcements clearly for each stop. However, there were signs for each stop outside. The red line was good and probably the best value. We did have to switch buses and waited for 20 minutes during the change process. The buses were never crowded and never freezing. Only some busses had a covered top. There are other hop on options available, and they all seem to use the same stops. FYI, just don't be in a hurry and enjoy the city, sites, and graffiti.

Don't trust what the people working there say. - This was my first time using this service in Athens. I wasn't sure how it worked so I asked the person working there about which bus I should take back to the cruise port. I asked her if the next bus was the one that goes back to the port. She said yes and asked me to go wait in the shade. I believed her because I was on the opposite side of the street from where they dropped us off. It seemed like it was true. I waited in line and then the person working there brought us down the street to the bus. My mistake was I didn't confirm with the driver. I got on the bus and about 10 minutes into the trip I started to see stops we didn't have on the way into Athens. At the next stop I went downstairs to ask the driver what I needed to do to get back to the cruise port. He said I would have needed to stay on until we turned around and came back the opposite direction then tranfer to a different bus. I had very little time so I got off to call an Uber. I can lose my job if I am late coming to the back of the cruise ship. If you use this service make sure you confirm with the driver where you are going. Do not trust the workers that are helping to load the busses. I could have lost my job today if I didn't try to go back 2 hours early. Thank you, Uber for getting me back to the ship on time.

Totally unreliable people - Do not believe what the person at the bus stop tells you about the service they are pushing, they tell you anything to get you on the bus. We paid 40 euro for two tickets, got three stops and were told that thus was the end of the line. Then had to wait approx 25 minutes to get another bus. We were also NOT told that our ticket was valid for two days. We felt cheated and would not recommend this company to anyone. Use Gray line or Big Bus, much more reliable

Ticket - I’m extremely disappointed with CitySightseeing. I purchased a ticket for €180, but due to an error in their system, my ticket wasn’t recognized and I was not allowed to board the bus. Even though I showed proof of payment, no help was provided. This completely ruined my vacation. I was really looking forward to a nice day and a proper sightseeing experience, but instead, I wasted hours and was left frustrated. For this amount of money, I expected things to be well organized and, at the very least, a proper solution when something goes wrong. I truly hope CitySightseeing takes responsibility for this error and refunds my money. €180 is not a small amount, and the way this situation was handled is very disappointing.

Skip and just walk where you want to go and see. - We were extremely disappointed in the Athens route. I thought we would see interesting ruins or the agoras. We did see the Olympic stadium but that was pretty much it. The trip didn't last long (not 1 1/2 hours) and was more like being on a city bus with the stops. All we saw were trees.

Rude people, dirty city - Athens is no longer a tourist city. I stayed in the city for 2 days to visit some tourist attractions and I was completely disappointed. I found a lot of dirty in this city, a lot of homeless people who literally defecated on the street (unbelievable what I could see near the National Archaeological Museum). The people who lives in Athens are completely unfriendly – I asked for some information from 2 people and they answered in an almost aggressive tone. Athens looks like a worn out city, with rude people and very dirty.
