Aiolou street is a historic central paved road linking Omonia square with Ermou street. Named after Aeolus, the ancient Greek god of the winds, Aiolou street was constructed in 1833 and is one of Athens’ oldest streets.

• Platia Theatrou - Sample menu: A variety of exquisite Greek olives.
• Psyri - Psyri, or Psiri, is a central, trendy, and unconventional neighborhood. Known for its artisans, specialty stores, restaurants, bars, tavernas (with or without live music), theaters, art and antique shops, and a few hotels.
• Monastiraki - Nestled in the shadow of the Acropolis, the Monastiraki neighborhood is a fusion of architectural styles, eras, and cultures, adjacent to the districts of Psyri, Plaka, and Thisio.

Monastiraki Square is one of Athens’ most captivating squares, home to restaurants, cafes, shops, the famous flea market, and a wealth of ancient history.

In the square, admire the sunken Church of Pantanassa, the last remnant of the monastery (or nunnery) that once stood here during the Byzantine period, giving the area its name (Monastiraki means little monastery).
