- Ancient Agora of Athens - The Ancient Agora of Athens is an open space located closest and northwest of the Acropolis. In ancient times, it served as the administrative, philosophical, educational, social, cultural, and primarily economic center of the city. The Panathenaic Way, which passed through the Ancient Agora, was the route for the grand procession to the Acropolis during the Panathenaic celebrations established by Peisistratos, held every third year of the Olympiad.
- Monastiraki - Monastiraki is a central neighborhood in Athens surrounding Monastiraki Square, extending on the southern side of Ermou Street, from Mitropoleos Square to Thiseio Square. It is adjacent to the neighborhoods of Psyrri, Plaka, and Thiseio.
The name derives from the old Church of the Dormition of the Theotokos of Athens, built on the square, which was formerly a dependency of a monastery, specifically the Monastery of Karea in Hymettus. The old Tzistarakis Mosque, constructed in 1759 and now housing a branch of the Museum of Greek Folk Art, also dominates Monastiraki Square.
Historically, the Monastiraki area was considered part of the Psyrri neighborhood, which extended to Thiseio and the borders of Plaka. It began to exist as a separate neighborhood after the opening of Ermou Street in 1835.
- Acropolis Museum - The Acropolis Museum is an archaeological museum focused on the findings from the archaeological site of the Acropolis of Athens. It is the second most important archaeological museum in Greece, following the National Archaeological Museum on Patission Street. The museum was built to house every artifact found on the sacred rock of the Acropolis and its slopes, covering a wide time span from the Mycenaean period to Roman and Early Christian Athens, while also being located above the archaeological site of Makrygianni, a remnant of Roman and early Byzantine Athens.
