- The Academy of Athens - The Trilogy of Athens includes 1) the Academy of Athens, 2) the Library of Athens, and 3) the University of Athens. These three remarkable buildings are designed in a Neo-Classical style and were conceived as part of an architectural “trilogy” in 1859.
- Hellenic Parliament - The Greek Parliament is located in the Old Royal Palace, overlooking Syntagma Square in Athens. In front of the Parliament, you will see the Greek guards or “Evzones,” members of the Presidential Guard stationed outside the Hellenic Parliament. They have become synonymous with the city of Athens and were originally established in 1868 as a regiment of the Greek army. It is a great honor for a soldier to be selected to join the Evzones.
