Comprehensive tour of Athens - Our final tour during our Athens visit was titled “ Best of Athens, (full day private tour) operated by My Athens Transfer and manned by the incomparable driver-guide, Costas. Our trend of drawing outstanding drivers-guides continued. Costas was very knowledgeable, fluent English, and very engaging -offering constant facts and information relative to the site visited at that point. In doing so, Costas demonstrated many characteristics of a school teacher offering comments ( particularly relating to origins of Greek culture and history) and then soliciting our responses. His commentary was so frequent and thorough i was afraid we could not absorb and retain it for the test we expected at tour-end. We apparently passed. Just a suggestion, Costas would make an excellent teacher and/ior super guide. The tour itself was well organized with comfortable transport beginning with a visit to the magnificent Acropolis and its antiquities which, of course was very crowded. Movement and taking unimpeded photos was a challenge but very much worth the hassle. Much like the Smithsonian, one could spend a couple days in the Acropolis Museum. The tour is comprehensive visiting over twenty sites so it would be difficult to pick a highlights; but two sites we enjoyed was the panoramic view from Mount Lycabettus and the opportunity to visit the site of the first modern Olympics - Panathenaic Stadium.
Our tour concluded with an early delicious dinner prepared by a hospitalable staff at a traditional Greek Tavern/cafe. If you have limited time, want some privacy, move at your pace, then we recommend this tour with the Greek goggle-king -Costas-at the helm.

One day visit to Athens - Personal trip through Athens with our private driver and car. We got everywhere that is on the must see list and never felt rushed. If you have limited time to see Athens this is by far the way to go. Lunch was worked in when we wanted to eat. We were taken to a local restaurant and could order what we wished.

A great day. - Excellent!! A great tour. Our only day in Athens and we wanted to see all we could. Our driver Michael was great. Very knowledgeable and informative. With this tour they accommodated changes in times we were at different sites and certain things we wanted to see.

Don’t Miss the Full Day Private Tour of Athens! - Out of all of our tours we have taken, this was by far the most relaxed, comprehensive, and enjoyable one yet. Our driver, Spiros, was knowledgeable, courteous, entertaining, and made us more aware of Greek culture and history than we ever dreamed. It was a truly wonderful experience.

So much to see in Athens! - We allotted one day to see the major highlights in the city center. With the efficiency of George we were taken from place to place and managed to see everything on our list. George picked us up right at 8am ready for our full day. Start with the Acropolis and get there when it opens to beat the crowds. No matter where you want to go, George will navigate the crazy traffic to get you there . The added bonus was hearing George, who lived his life in Greece, tell us all about the civil war in Greece as well as many other historical facts about Greece. I highly recommend George for your tours in Athens. There are several to choose from!

a private tour from cruise terminal. - We absolutely loved our guide- Costa (Constantin). He refreshed our knowledge of Greek mythology and even enlightened the similarities between Hinduism and other religions. Even though he is considered a "driver" and not a guide, He gave more information about what to see and its significance than most official guides. FYI, only official guides can provide services at the attractions. Our "driver" cannot enter the sites with us, but did provide all the history and significance before each individual site as well as guiding us on what to see inside.
Costa can easily teach a college-level class on Ancient Greece and I would enroll in his classroom in a heartbeat!!
It was a great overview tour of everything to see in Athens. You really need a week to absorb in greater detail. We did elect some time to dine and shop. The tour was customized to our needs.
The tour company provided information on the type of museum tickets to purchase and the timing of the various tickets. Please book them as soon as possible. These are not included in the tour price and you do not want to waste hours waiting in line to purchase tickets onsite. In busy season, they can sell out. The only downside to purchasing tickets in advance is if your plans change, you may not get a refund since the governmental museums issue the tickets and not the tour company.

Disappointing tour - We have booked Viator many times in all parts of the world and this was the first time we have been disappointed. We basically paid for a driver that included lunch. We could have had a taxi driver to take us from place to place. Our “guide” provided very little information and asked us what we wanted to see when there was an itinerary that was to be followed according to the information when booking, We were dropped off for lunch and only told where to go. There was no information about what we could order. He drove us around and facilitated getting the entrance tickets we needed. The cab driver to our cruise gave us more information. The description of the tour was a person with lots of historical information. This was not provided. We took this tour on October 11th but unfortunately I did not get the name of the guide.
